Dog Walking Itself

Just like dogs shouldn't walk themselves, babies shouldn't sit themselves, and the people who print the currency shouldn't be the ones who decide how much gets printed. None of those things end well.

One of the great things about physical gold and silver is there is a limited quantity and it takes work and energy to get it out of the ground. Therefore there's a base cost to acquire it, and it has value due to its rarity/scarcity.

Fiat currencies and derivatives of precious metals are easily created and have no intrinsic value. For instance, I believe it's $110 for the central banks to buy a contract on 500 ounces of gold. That makes it really easy to manipulate the price.

You've probably heard it before, but physical metals are the only insurance policy that will actually pay out something of value.

Remember, if you don't hold it, you don't own it!

Smart dog. I hope one day to come across some gold that buys itself and stacks itself neatly in my safe.
