Hello Everyone!
Today , I decided to create the 3D model of chess pieces one by one starting with weakest which is the Pawn. The pawn or the soldier is the most numerous chess piece on the board. It moves two blocks on its first move at starting position and a single block there after. As the mechanics of the game implies, pawns can capture opponent's pieces in a diagonal manner only. More on the mechanics side as we further design other chess pieces. For now, let's go over to the process.
Process:
The process of creating chess pieces is very simple and this piece is the most easy one.
You just have to create the half outline of it and apply revolve tool. What consumes time the most is the design of your pawn. The usual design is having a broad base and small head while the body is arcing inside. But you can do more for your aesthetics like creating grooves and patterns on its surface or maybe create the human type piece of a pawn. I remember back in college, a colleague of mine create a human inspire chess pieces. And the best part is the knight.
I haven't put the hive logo for this design and will not put to those coming pieces. Instead, I'll be making a customize chess board on the end of this designs with the hive logo for sure. :)
Stay tuned for more 3D Designs.
