Why Conservatives Love Liberal Bad Behavior
Somehow, conservatives - in particular, Trump supporters, seem to take delight whenever they see examples of liberals behaving badly. Somehow, Al Franken's sloppy kiss proves something that excuses the double-digit accusations of more than sloppy kisses against conservative figures.
Later, lots of photographic evidence came out that Franken's accuser was hardly the most credible witness, but whatever.... we all know better than to blame the victim, and that's not the point. Of course, this isn't just about sex scandals. It's also about foreign interference, party interference, and all sorts of issues.
The Fundamental Philosophic Difference Between Conservatives and Liberals
The point is, why do conservatives take such delight in liberal bad behavior. How can that somehow erase accusations against their side? How can we explain this. This quote from Rand Paul's campaign manager shed some light on the issue that I had obviously missed before:
"The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans believe people are fundamentally bad, while Democrats see people as fundamentally good." In other words, Republicans believe people are awful and need religion or a "Great White Father" to redeem them. Liberals believe people are good, and their bad behavior is the result of social conditions, poverty, and so on.

OK, then! So, when liberals get caught stealing sloppy kisses, it just confirms what conservatives already thought. People stink, and liberals stink just as bad as anybody else. Liberals must all be evil or brain dead not to see it. Is that the point?
The Puzzle
The problem here is that finding out that liberals can behave as badly as anybody else doesn't really excuse any bad behavior. It also doesn't support the notion that it's a good idea to cut social programs or give more tax breaks to billionaires. I don't get it. Sorry, I just sort of had an epiphany, but the puzzle is still missing a few pieces.
Maybe some of you Steemers can help me put this together.
Enjoyed the article and I agree, there is no excuse for any of the behavior and it shouldn't be tolerated, but conservatives use any small thing as a justification for everything.
Thanks, it's so hard to understand the reaction. It's like we're living in the UpsideDown these days.
Haha agreed man, people can't separate from their emotions or admit they are wrong. We complain now, but think of how much worse this has been throughout history.
