The Hive Why?

Howdy folks'.

I had an interesting conversation in a DM on Discord. It started of with.
"Hey dude, How much to you make from this?"

My reply was nothing. Which led to a series of other questions I should of seen coming. The conversation essentially evolved around to why do it. If I do not earn from it when I need finances. The time I put in to The Hive and get no return is it worth while? The price of Steem, scams and phishing, all the normal negative nonsense. I was unsure at part if this person was just trying to be a twit or was probing my mind. I was exploring my own thoughts as I went though and learning about myself.

Thinking back through your own life, it is not easy to pin point a time exactly. Although, I had seen unfairness and wrong doing previous to the time I begin with here and known this is so. An understanding was not really there. There was always something missing and I could never quite grasp it. I could never understand why.

Back in the last century, when people were still half human. Sometime in 1990 onward for a few years. I happened to hanging out with some really cool people. At the time not knowing it, when I look back, Genuine people, people I was never able to do much for. Help from them was always there for me though. The truth was, all I needed was to be accepted and these people accepted me as I am or was depending on how much I have changed.

In the discussion we would have many things would come up of equality or lack of, unfairness, corruption, conspiracy, time travel, and many other what if's and maybe's. This is when the why finally clicked for me. A moment of clarity, when everything fits and makes sense. Those times led to this community now. The Hive

That moment of clarity, was solution. We were talking constantly about each new thing on the media. How wrong it was. How it should not be allowed. That we need to do something about this. The we obviously meaning someone else who had the finances or ability. But something needs to be done. Sleep, wake up, go to work, come home and talk about something else, at times carry on the same conversation. Expanding theories or narrowing them down to find an answer. The point being, we talked a lot and did nothing. The saying,

Those who talk a lot, seldom say much comes to mind. Me at times.

The dreams, yes, just like a dream. A spark lit a candle in my mind, Just like in a dream, anything can happen in the mind. The longer this candle burned the brighter it got, the bigger it got. Each flicker of the flame grew the candle, not melt the wax. The thought grew over time, feeling more and more right as it grew and developed itself. From new observations and reflections of old. I found the problem lies not in the things that are wrong, But in focusing, all funding available to address these issues, we never correct anything.

There lies the problem which has always held me back. The financing of such a costly project. My own failure here, asking others for finance is not my strong point. I was only putting in time, them the finance, what would be their return? Unless the returns were high enough no one would want to invest. (I am a bit of an idealist here.) I see it as 1 million 1 dollar bills, is better than 150 thousand 5 dollar bills.

There are so many charities out there for so many things. All of them will need continuous funding. Leading to a market where constant advertising is needed and diverting funding from where it should be going, often cause my brother in law's print house is not doing so well and this will help him out. We pay high prices for this quality work. So much is funnelled out of the system in so many ways that people do not see. A new disaster a new appeal, the cycle does not end. On the financial market, multi-billion dollar corporations with tax exemptions are making record profits. Can you spare a dollar to clean up the oil spill polluting your shoreline? What happened to all the equipment we paid for the last time there was an oil spill?

Time past by, the candle grew bigger and brighter with each new thing I learnt. I would talk about this topic with people I met and all would agree that yes it sounds like a plan. That could really work you know. A few replies of, They would never let that happen. They have killed people for trying that. If so, maybe that is the door we should be trying to open most frequent.
So, getting involved then? Guaranteed reply, no its not for me. Yet a smile is on their face when they donate to clean up a new mess.

There I was in Jan23com, writing my posts away trying to learn about Steemit and how it worked. Thinking I could find a niche maybe and earn an income to support myself through what I write. I never seen myself as an author, I do have an opinion I would like to be shared across the world though. I need funding for this opinion two. Steemit complements both of these personal agenda's. Combining these two objectives, gaining finance and beginning a project of change.

I was on my way half out the door. I was transferring my Steem to Jan23com to cash out (on power down from Brayias password only remembered by the computer.) When the power down was complete, I was going to cash out again and try something else. Gaining a foot hold was Impossible.

@Simplymike happened upon me by chance. Made a comment on my post and voted. During a short conversation she mentioned something about finding good posts. I suggested to look at a post made by Brayias. I got a bonus S.B.I. from Simplymike for this 3 in fact. This set Jan23com on the road to earning a penny a post and a smile to go along with it. I tried things interacted with others. found some communities, listened to people and the same things over again. The same things I had talked about 30 years previous. Different titles to them, but essentially the same. We need to do something about this. Any complaints, direct them to Simplymike (Do not really send complaints to Simplymike, that was just humour).

The Hive came about to try make an alternative project happen. Alternative to concentrating on one issue, like building a levy, or a new road that is needed, a bridge or to fight a famine. We believe, there is a solution. That this solution can prevent the need for many of the the financial drains placed on society by doing things different. Building from support providing by a solid foundation to grow from. The beginning of that foundation has now started.

We Are Here!

That is why I do it, even though there is no rewards right now. I believe we can grow, I feel I have shown we can grow. Right now the limitations we place on ourselves are the only restrictions we have. I do not look at the price of Steem or Crypto rising. When thinking about the rewards I get I work basically from the SBD or Steem return, not from the USD value of return. Right now my main focus is on growing the SP power up or generating more Steem for Steem Power. It is my own personal ambition to generate an income for The Hive that could provide myself with an income of approx €250-€300 per week. If provisions held a rise in that determined and a cap of maximum put in place by the community.

For The Hive I see far greater ambitions of what can be achieved. It is something that needs you. It needs many of you, possibly all of you. We are still forming and growing our strength. We need many opinions and advice from many area's.

Writers, curators, bot coders. We need one of each. Most of all we need readers.
Universal Basic Incomes seem to be a big thing. The Hive has an alternative vision, Universal Basic Entitlement. We have a strong grasp on the morality of rewards. We look constantly at rewarding, our ability to improve on this, the level of rewards we can provide, how we can provide an additional advantage to members. Eventually expanding these initiatives to everyone to avail of. So no rewards now. Maybe later, depending on how many seriously want to see a change.
