Howdy folks'.

Sitting here, thinking about a contest we might host. We could do anything, so why is it so hard to choose. It might be cause I complicate the process thinking about what I am trying to do. In the words of Murphy the logic, Ye can't fail if ye don't try, so have a go and succeed. Okay, there is not really a Murphy the logic person, I made that up to put that silly line in. To that I have come up with a pass the buck solution. I will leave the choice to you.

It might be interesting to try a couple of different contests. See which style of contest people prefer. I want to try avoid genre specific contests like writing stories or composing music, drawing or designing. Simply because when I have seen these contests. I have felt excluded in a way. Saying that I have found some ways to enter some of those contests with an alternative perspective that survived. Most of our limitations are set by ourselves at times and not by others.

Getting a bit off topic there, back to the game. We have had the word search. I had previous shared a thought of a game with others who hosted games about guessing a phrase or hangman man type game. The Idea seemed good, though not so easy to develop for the platform. I came across a similar type game while I was pondering what to try. It is a way to play the guess the phrase game. It takes a different direction to the game than the one I started with.

How the game plays

For the purpose of this example we are going to use.

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest

The phrase or line are broken down into sections. What you end with is a jigsaw of letters to be assembled in order to reveal the phrase. In the contest you would see something like.

For the purpose of a contest I would make this a line from a book and have it a bit longer. Something like,

Once upon a time, in a land far far away. There lived a beautiful Gnome Witch.

I made that line up, if you didn't guess that yourself. In the contest I would use an actual line from an actual book or song, phrase or film. Should I list in the contest if it is a line from a song and then maybe the genre, mostly all I know would be Country. And from a book if a book is used. If it is a catch phrase. I think that might be a good idea to mention where the phrase or line comes from.

There are other options too for games we can try. I am thinking to look at the option of trying a few of the games that are available. We could make crosswords, they would consume time in gathering and researching questions over time though. Not as simple as the word search or the phrase game. Just as simple to create once you have all your questions together.

There are other option of Double Puzzle and a decipher puzzle.

I think these are like coffee break puzzles, maybe a bit longer. Share your thoughts in the comments. If you have a preference of one you would like to see first. Maybe you have a suggestion for a game or contest you would like to see on the platform.
