"Treasure Guards" - Movie Review

I had a break this afternoon, so I decided to watch a movie on Amazon titled Treasure Guards. The story focuses around the search for the Seal of Solomon a mythical archeological find. Victoria (Anna Friel) is an archeologist that while on a dig finds a scroll that cryptically tells about the pieces of the Seal. After the scroll is stolen, Victoria partners with Angelo (Raol Bova), a Treasure Guard for the Vatican. It becomes a race between those that would protect the historical find and those who want the rewards the Seal guards.

Overall the story is pretty good, good guys vs bad guys with a little comic relief provided by Angelo’s wayward brother, Luca (Volker Bruch). Production quality was good with multiple locations.

The characters were developed enough. I felt the editing could have been tighter which would have moved things along better. It almost seemed like a pilot movie with the ending open for further adventures. The majority of the film was family friendly except for some gratuitous nudity in the very beginning of the film which did make a point but wasn’t necessary and didn’t mix with the rest of the film.

This is a popcorn movie that was not bad, I did enjoy it, but I wouldn’t spend additional money for it. It is not Tomb Raider but it was okay.
