A Travelling Path Part Two/Movment

Don stood there, watching his small wooden cottage burn. The fire danced and climbed higher and higher against the rising dawn. The flames burned into his retinas when he decided to turn his attention elsewhere. His eyes found some hour-old prints on the ground between the brush of the forest. They were small and humanoid. He saw were the claws dented the dirt. Don knew what it was. Goblins.

As he knelt over the indentations in the clay, Don sensed movement behind him. His sword was still in his hand. Don’s knuckles shone white on the woven cord handle. The sound came closer, merely feet behind him. He twisted and lunged at dark figure who gasped.

“Oh!”

Don stood frozen, as if from stone. If she had intended to do harm, it would have been a perfect opportunity. His sword was only inches from his sister’s face.
