The new sound system plays about 20 sounds per second, so this would manage to create a backlog, but I think the new backlog behavior is better than 'amplify-volume-on-all-stacked-sounds' The frog/toad chain attacks for example, actually sound like multikills, rather than just being loud or requiring artificial delays placed onto the animation/action.
