construction hack! conquering a short stud!

so sometimes when you have a wall you set your header and your footer expecting all the boards to be the same length all the way down,.. well sometimes you miss a warp in the ceiling and one board just doesnt quite seem to fit,.. instead of buying another board and swallowing the loss,.. you can use this hint which works just as well!
