What am I thinking? 24 June
What a week of extremes! The weather seems to be a reflection of our EBay sales! One day, we are all reaching for the sun tan lotion, the next, we are reaching for our overcoats.
It has been the same with our sales. Some days, the sales just keep coming! Then, for no apparent reason, we get no sale days. Reselling on Ebay can be a bit of a roller coaster, as there are so many factors involved. Even so, things just seem a bit more 'extreme' than normal.
I'm not the sort of person to do a huge amount of research on Cassini or any other search engine that may be working its magic at the moment. Even so, I do hear a lot of opinions and talk about what is going on.
Apparently, Ebay are changing things around, and some people see this as the reason that a lot of people are having erratic sales. I don't know enough to comment either way, but I do know that getting annoyed, irritated or disheartened is not going to change things.
As is usual at times like these, I try to keep my focus on what I can control. There is nothing I can do about search engines, customer choices or the global economy. What I can do is focus on the things I have influence over.
So, with the reality of no sales days hitting, sometimes twice a week, I have to focus on the positives. I don't have to spend so much time packing and shipping on those days, so I can concentrate more on getting listings done.
Whatever the reason no one is buying my items, at some point, that will change and I have to grab the opportunity to reach as many customers as possible. Make hay while the sun shines, so to speak. So I am focusing on listing, revisiting old listings to perk them up or alter the pricing and generally building my store portfolio.
Nothing will sell unless it is listed, so I make listing my primary goal when times are erratic or difficult. When all these upheavals and alterations come to an end, I want to be ready to offer as many items as possible to my customers.
Here's to a weekend of many sales for us all!
