Memorial Day: It's Over
The sun has set on yet another weekend, and I feel like I still didn't get enough sleep despite it lasting three days. At least the work week will be short!
This years Memorial Day BBQ was a little out of the ordinary. Usually the family gathers and we cook tri-tip, chicken, sausage, along with salads, fruit and various other kinds of side dishes.
This year we only cooked chicken, hot dogs and jalapeño poppers... No salad, fruit or any side dish to speak of! I think everyone was worn out this weekend and didn't feel like really doing a whole lot foodwise.
Except of course my grandma, who made these delicious pies from scratch. That's peach pie and custard pie, yum!
Topped with some whipped cream, it was a nice sweet treat to enjoy during the hot afternoon.
After all that, I had the opportunity to play some video games with my brother on his new Nintendo Switch, which I enjoy despite the controllers being hard to handle. I have smallish hands but the buttons seem to be too crowded together and are difficult to find sometimes by feel.
I also took a long two hour nap after everyone left and woke up feeling hungry again, but I think everyone took leftovers home with them... oh well!
