Hey everyone, how's it going? It's the eve of #hf21, and I'm getting excited!

I know this upcoming hardfork has got a lot of people on edge, as well as a lot of people eager for #newsteem. I don't really write a lot about steem itself, as there are plenty of others who are much better at it than I and way more knowledgeable on all the complicated innerworkings of the blockchain.

I'm not writing today to get into any of that. However, I do care about steem, and had a bit of a brainstorm a couple days ago. There are many initiatives out there on spreading the word of steem, onboarding new users, and other great things I'm sure I'm not aware of.

Today, I'd like to introduce my new idea: the 30 Day Powerup Challenge!

What is the 30 Day Powerup Challenge?

It's a really simple idea; once a day for 30 days, powerup at least 1 steem (preferably, though I know some people may not be able to commit to that, so any amount however small is fine).

After you powerup, write a post about it with the hashtag #30daypowerupchallenge and tag another steemian! In this way, I hope for the challenge to go viral, and if there truly are 50,000 regularly active users on here, just imagine if they all started powering up regularly day by day like that!

Do you think it might have an effect on the value of steem? Maybe, maybe not, but I think it's worth a shot! If 50,000 accounts powerup 30 steem, that's 1,500,000 steem powered up in a month. That's nothing to sneeze at!
