Arcblock — building blockchain 3.0 for the future
Good afternoon my dear readers, today I want to discuss another in my opinion great project. Grab a cup of tea and I hope that you will enjoy my article.
ArcBlock is a platform designed for the construction and operation of decentralized applications. The main goal of ArcBlock is to distribute blockchain technologies to the general public through unique approaches.
It is necessary to note the fundamental difference between ArcBlock and Ethereum: ArcBlock is a computational platform for developing and deploying blockchain applications, while Ethereum is the embodiment of blockchain technology. They are related to each other, but, nevertheless, very different: comparing the ArcBlock with Ethereum is similar to comparing Apple with Orange.
ABT are platform tokens to pay for services. People who download resources or services on the platform (the "miners") will be rewarded with the tokens. The familiar "mining" has a completely different meaning in ArcBlock. "Miners" on the ArcBlock platform load computing resources, moreover, they help to develop the platform together, providing various components, new services and even capable applications.
ArcBlock is designed in terms of creating and running software. Despite the fact that ArcBlock is not an open source project, it is based on open standards. Developers plan to actively participate in various communities associated with the blockchain technology.
Thus, we can conclude that ArcBlock does not intend to download another new public blockchain. ArcBlock is, in fact, a computing platform for creating and deploying blockchain applications for many other blockchain technologies. The ArcBlock itself is equipped with built-in blockchain technology. With ArcBlock, developers will also be able to create their own tokens, having all the functions of the ABT token.
Registration and KYC are mandatory actions when working with the platform. It should also be noted that the PRC, USA, New Zealand, Canada, South Korea will not be able to work on the platform.
Registration for participation in crowdsale begins on January 15, 2018 and ends on January 28, 2018. To register, a user will need to provide information about the nationality, user name, address of residence and email address, the photo of the passport and the photo of a user. In some cases, additional information may be requested. It will also be necessary to specify the Ethereum address during registration, since the acquired ArcBlock tokens will be delivered to it. Only one Ethereum address can be registered. Information verification can take up to 3 business days (it may take longer in some situations). After a user is approved by the system, an e-mail will notified about the possibility to participate in the sale of ArcBlock tokens.
ArcBlock will distribute ABT tokens within 4 weeks after the end of the public sale. The public sale begins on February 3, 2018. Registration for public sale starts on January 15, 2018
The main stages of registration can be described as follows:
- Follow the link of the official ArcBlock website - "arcblock.io", click the "Register" button in the main navigation.
- Register your account and wait for confirmation by e-mail.
- Once your email is confirmed, you can start the KYC process.
- Send your citizenship, name, email address, scanned page with a passport photo and your photo for KYC.
- Wait for the KYC approval.
- Wait for the KYC review.
- After the completion of KYC, wait for the opening of the ICO.
- After the opening of the ICO, you will be able to see the address of the ETH deposit.
- ArcBlock will distribute ABT tokens 4 weeks after the end of the public sale.
It should be noted that for users using ETH, the minimum purchase amount is 0.1 ETH, and the maximum amount is 50 ETH. For users using CMT, the minimum is 200 CMT, and the maximum is 150,000 CMT. Also, the platform does not recommend using cryptocurrency exchange addresses (for example, Kraken, Coinbase, etc.) as an ETH address for receiving tokens. Any wallets that support ERC20 tokens, such as MyEtherWallet, ImToken, etc., are the most suitable.
Thus, ArcBlock is a platform, not a separate software package or a set of APIs. ArcBlock is a complex solution combining blockchain technology with Cloud Computing. ArcBlock is a product aimed at stimulating the market for creating reusable services and applications with the use of blockchain technology.
