RE: The Walking Dead TV Series

it repeats itself too much and gets boring after 1 season

also, the main characters are all plot armored

I agree that season 1 was the best so far. Yes, the main characters seem to be plot armored. Also, I did not like the funny business with Glenn's survival a couple of seasons ago.

Yet another truth about this series is that its writers aren't too good at creating characters that are believable on a psychological level. While a lot of fans may find it cool that Carol has become a terminator, I find it disturbingly hard to believe. Middle-aged people don't change that much. Yes, a post apocalyptic world is an exceptional environment. But Carol lived under the thumb of Ed for decades, in a situation every bit as terror-filled as the apocalypse. Are we supposed to believe that she would be able to make a transition from a scared woman to a stone cold killer in her fifties? Either version would fly in the face of her basic temperament in real life. Another character whose about-face I did not find satisfying was Daryl's scumbag brother Merle. The man sacrificed himself in an effort to stop the Governor and redeem himself. Also, the comic version has Rick and Negan working together in the future.

Also, there are too way many women who are total ninjas in this show. In combat roles in the US military, the proportion of women is about four percent, that is, one in twentyfive is a woman.

I think the writers should know the limits of their skills and stick to writing horror and action as well as they can and skip the psychological mumbo jumbo.. There's much potential there. Tarantino's characters have little depth but his writing rocks because of the brilliant dialogue and plot lines complete with a touch of absurd humor here and there. The Walking Dead is entertainment pure and simple and it should cut the psychology and the philosophy. The characters should talk less and do more. I hate the soap operatic qualities this show has been taking on since season two.

Speaking of humour, has anybody noticed that there is absolutely no humor in TWD?

Just play or watch a playthrough of The Last of Us and you will get everything this show failed at.

There is a game set in the TWD universe where main character is a twelve-year-old girl called Clementine. When the apocalypse starts, she finds a protector in a professor convicted of murdering his wife and on his way to prison. I don't remember the name of the game, though. But I very much enjoyed it. It was exciting, well-written and it had a touching end.

It is just called TWD. Touchy but then you realize you are not allowed much interaction and your choices have little effect over who lives at the end.

I didn't play it at all. I just watched a few play-throughs enjoying it as a movie.

then you will be blown by The Last of Us

What do you think about The Last of Us as a whole? Some strong criticism people give is the fact that the enemies have a very simple and dumb AI as their only attack pattern is running straight at the player, they don't react properly to the player's footsteps or the noise they make when they shoot and how easy it is to break their AI.

I agree, the AI is shit, but then again we are still far from having (or wanting) very smart enemy minions. The best game I know that did it best was Metal Gear Solid 3.

Thanks for the tip!
