Cover of The Week: Down By The River
Hey Steemers,
I have recently started my family medicine residency program...and well, life is getting busy!
However, I thought I would start doing a "Cover of the Week" to keep up THE JAM.
I hope to continue having time to do this as well as open mic sessions each week! I also plan on continuing to write medical articles, which will probably occur on a monthly basis...(hopefully more if time permits)!
For this week's selection, I chose the song "Down By The River" which is a great Neil Young song. When I first learned guitar, I remember playing this song over and over and never getting tired of it.
Hope you enjoy! Feel free to share your thoughts.
Have a great weekend!
Good to see you're surviving Residency!
I'm very happy to see you cover this, one of my All Time Favorites! Brings back memories of a certain young lady. :-)
It seems you like this song as well. I wonder if you're familiar with this version, from a band that is from where I'm from, NYC.
It's great to listen to with headphones and is quite a 60s psychedelic acid rock groovy version. Also interesting is that it is a mashup with another popular 60s tune.... Check it out if you want!
Listening to it now! Wow, love the solo at the beginning. This song is so much fun to play with others....that E minor jam! I will have to check out more from this band.
The addition to the second song "nobody's right if everyone is wrong."
Time can move on...but the 60s had a passion that is unmatched.
Residency is just a lot or info for now and getting to know the hospital. I start managing patients in a week!
Thanks for listening and supporting me!
They had one album and the first song, Sioux City Blues, is a proto metal, fuzzed out rocker, PLAY LOUD, if you like that kind of music!
Yep the 60s were unique and exciting in terms of music and lots of other changes in the world. Things go in cycles, and the lyrics of For What Its Worth remind me a lot of today.
You're gonna Rock that Residency! :-)
Thanks man! I'll keep people posted about my experience!
Gotta love these Neil Young classics. Enjoyed your performance, well done.
Thanks for listening! This song is a fun one! Lots of jamming opportunities for sure.
You Play guitar as well ! I like it 😋
