Hello People,

I'm a bit late today but trust me, it's always for the good. Here's another painting today with the title - Somewhere in Lagos! I made this painting today withing one and half hour and it was good to the eyes, well, many might not find it that attractive but I tell you it's because I'm using watercolor, you'll get to see some wonderful works very soon and at the same time, for easy learning and teaching, we need to start with mediums like watercolor.

Somewhere in Lagos!

I made this painting and titled it - Somewhere in Lagos! in order to portray the day to day life on the roads of Lagos in Nigeria. Lagos is a state in Nigeria with over 20 million people in population, it happens to be one, if not the busiest state in the whole of Nigeria. In Lagos you can hardly find a less busy road during the day except the government restricted areas, like places that are not meant for the common men.

Lagos as a state, Lagos as a city, and Lagos seems to be a country on its own already, not just with population alone, there are lots of visitors and foreigners living in Lagos too. Geographically, Lagos is not so big and it's been surrounded by waters but her citizens made it took very much bigger, almost everything in Lagos is quite active, and these days, you can hardly find anything as a waste. Many things are working fine but the road cries cause the population dealt with it on daily basis..... Lol. 😂

Let's teach your kids to paint.

I think this would take a little bit more time to teach but since it's my calling, I have no problem, I just hope my audience and viewers would get to love it all at the end.

Make your white and thick paper available as usual, most preferably the white paper could just be a white cardboard, that's strong enough to absorb the watercolor and help it dry fast.

Starting the painting with light colours I could possibly or eventually want to feature in the painting.

Note this - If you're painting from your imagination, don't be scared to control your painting, you can hardly recognize mistakes in an imaginative painting so kick the ball!

After laying the foundation of the painting, the next thing to do is recognising the objects and subjects in the painting, and as you can see in the picture by the left, I started picturing things like houses, shops, stores, just to make or bring out a view of a busy road or Street.
In order to keep the message in the painting more vivid, I started featuring things like cars, bikes, store umbrella and even humans.

Always know that the beauty of every painting lies in the colour arrangements.

It's very important you know have to keep your colour combinations in such a manner that is pleasant to the eyes of humanity. Take your time to lay the colours, starting from the lightest part of the picture to the darkest shades.

As you can see in the picture by the left, I'm actually done with the painting, since it's just a kind of rough painting using watercolor, it not necessary you let it take all your time, I just kept adding depth to the painting until I was able to achieve the kind of contrast I needed in the painting. Also painting the sky with a very light or like many call it *Sky blue*. Painting is lovely thing to do, and it's far beyond just the talent, so just paint it!
