Talking about cryptos is hard...

Talking about cryptos is something hard to do! Let's start with the whole tech.

The tech is hard to talk about because it's full of technical words, different proof-of-(...), some are proof-of-stake, others are proof-of-work, others are proof-of-brain, some have delegated proof-of-stake, it's hard! Diving into this new tech is like diving into the ocean! You only know how deep it is when you put your head under the water and open your eyes!

The community...well, it really depends on the crypto we are talking about. STEEM actually has one of the best communities out there, it has some problems with vote abusing, revenge-flagging, greedy reward pool violators, spam bots, etc... but at least we can talk about other cryptos in here!

I've talked about EOS, I've talked about VeChain, I've talked about SmartCash! I've talked about so many cryptos! Without fear of being flagged or starting a fight! Meanwhile, try to do the same thing in reddit...

Every time I ask a legit question on reddit about the differences between x coin and y coin I get downvoted to hell! All the reddit crypto-fanboys with their stupid tribe-like mentality come raining down on me!

If I talk about EOS or Tron I get "scam" "get out", if I don't say bitcoin and ethereum are the best in the world I get all the bitcoin maximalists and ethereum tribe trying to push me down, even though I'm asking a legit question!

Cryptos are becoming like religion! Maybe they already are...

People sell their "religion" without hearing about other's religions! Most of them say things that they've read on social platforms... without digging deeper! How can people say they follow the Bible or the Quran without reading them?! In this case, the Bible or Quran of the crypto world are the whitepapers and medium posts!

Let's go with EOS for example...
When EOS climbed fast and the main net was launched everyone was saying scam, but most didn't know anything about it! They were just copying what they've read! Trying to follow the tribe-like mentality of their own crypto! "Selling their own fish and bashing the next guy's fish"

I still remember when Ethereum was a scam to all the bitcoin maximalists... I still remember when STEEM was a Ponzi scheme... Most people that said that didn't read the whitepapers, didn't try to get informed about the crypto! They just spit out the same thing they were feed by their own tribe!

I see many Steemians just saying the same thing: "STEEM is the only coin with utility and being used, none of the others has any substance..." look, I also agree that STEEM is really really undervalued, but there are other coins with utility... for example BNB, it's used to decrease the fees in binance... even though I hate centralized exchanges the coin has utility! Monero and has utility, it's used for some transactions, especially for privacy...Bitshares has utility in a decentralized exchange! Give it one more year and there will be a LOT of coins with utility!

Cryptos shouldn't be about what coin you have! Cryptos should be about the best tech! Just because a random guy says on twitter, steemit, dtube, facebook, reddit, etc... that the x coin has better tech it doesn't make it necessarily true! Do your own research and don't spit out the same misinformation that you were feed! Don't attack a person just because he is not from the same tribe that you are... try talking with him to see the differences between the different "tribes" and try to come to a consensus. Remember there are many paths to reach the same destination! If you can't agree then agree to disagree and that's it!

I look at Vitalik and Dan... their tribes have been fighting each other for weeks, months! Meanwhile, they are both friendly towards each other going so far as Vitalik looking into the EOS code and having a discussion with Dan! Both of them want what's best for the world! They might have different views of the world, different ideas, but they are trying to make it better each in their own way!

If blockchain is meant to be worldwide adopted we need to be like this! The better tech needs to win! We can't be fighting amongst ourselves for "who has the higher MarketCap", we need to discuss between ourselves what we can do to bring it to the masses! Who has the better tech! And especially, what we can do to make the tech better! Like Vitalik did with Dan and his EOS!

But I guess trying to fight this is hard... maybe even impossible! Most new people into crypto are getting in because they want quick gains... quick gains to cash out into fiat, going to the old system and bowing down to our overlord "The Bankers"... Most of them don't know a single thing about crypto... They just want their Lambos! They just want their perfect beach house with ten maids, bathrooms with televisions, and a chair made of gold!

Meanwhile, there are people in third-world countries dying of hunger, that could benefit from this system! A system where the government doesn't control us! A system where we are truly free from the shackles of our overlords! A world under one single currency! A world without borders! A world without wars for power and territory! That's what crypto in the long...looooooong... run is trying to accomplish!

A system where you decentralize power because trusting a corruptable greedy government is wrong!!

The people in power have been there for years, decades, centuries! We are choosing between one greedy government and another greedy government! One of my favorite quotes comes from V for Vendetta, it actually struck my soul when I first heard it, I won't need to explain the meaning, everyone will know what it means:

“People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.” - Alan Moore, V for Vendetta

Do you know why most of us went from a monarchy to a republic?! Because giving the power to one single "king" was wrong... The powers should be given to the people and spread around... with blockchain, we have the possibility to spread them around much much more! Decentralizing power! We just need to unite to make this better future a reality!

We "Warriors Of The New System", "Warriors Of The Crypto Community" should unite against the old system instead of fighting between ourselves! We must show a united front! Civil War inside the Crypto Community isn't going to solve anything! Civil war will only make us weaker! We can't fight against the "Old System" without unity!

Damn... I wanted to write about VeChain and I ended up just going really really off topic, this post turned into a ramble... And now I got in the mood to watch V for Vendetta for the bazillionth time!

Question of the day: What do you think we should do to unite the crypto community and make the progress of blockchain adoption faster?

You wrote a good blog. I agree, people get to caught up in what they own or are fans of. I have stacks of other coins and don't give a hot what others think of them!

I laughed at thefish bit :0)

You wrote a good blog.

This coming from one of my favorite bloggers means a lot!

Your posts provide inspiration to make me a better writer :) Hopefully, one day I'll be just as good of a writer as you! Being a non-English person makes it kinda hard but I give it my best!

Yeah, I got stacks of other cryptos too, and I try to always keep an open mind when it comes to new cryptos, even when they are under fire from all sides. So sick of all the mob/tribe like mentality over on reddit...It's like they are cheering for their own football team over there!

The worst part is when people bash bitcoin but want their coin to rise in price, what they don't realize is that almost all coins rise when bitcoin rises, so bitcoin going up is a good thing to the whole cryptomarket.... Oh well, people buy the hype instead of doing the research...

I have only heard of the Reddit thing, I was never a big fan of it so never bothered. Sounds pretty awful though!

It is good here for the crypto discussions. You can learn stuff too!

i can't actually find an answer to your question. I think the issue generally lies in each individual and their mindset. The only way i see is just trying to interact with others and slowly building friendships and create communities. At the same time we should try earn as much power as we can both individually and together. Having power can make people see you a little bit different while ofc staying true to our principals. That way then we may influence some people.

Other than that it's just the mentality that everyone should do something about it. They just defend their choices bitcoin ether, litecoin etc etc like you are attacking them or you have something to earn. they have to understand that alone you can't succeed much but together a lot.

If i once again take steemit as an example and trying to simplify it as much as i can just see how many people actually don't use their voting power. They have 100% max voting power that may be over 2 cents to 20$+ and they don't cast a single vote even an automated one. You have something that you can give to others of your choice completely free and help them or even motivate them and you don't do that :P how then the community can be united!

Nice examples and i do agree, having power can make people see you different, so true, some of those "powerful" or "influential" people in crypto can cause huge ripples in the crypto market with just 1 tweet!

i really hope for the unification of the crypto community. Now all that i see is what exactly you mentioned as well as small communities that try to change things but remain small while they could be united with other small ones and make something big

if in the future you have any idea let me know :P

Really don't have any idea... most people are in this for greed and money, which I understand a little, still, together they would make a lot more money! It's like that old tale where one stick brakes easily but a bunch of sticks are hard to brake ...
