New Consoles in 2020? Investment Opportunity?

Sales going down...

Sales are going down, little by little the demand is going down, the product is selling less and less! You know what product I'm talking about right? Playstation 4...

Playstation 4 was released on November 2013, it's been almost six years! Six years without a new Playstation. But also six years of incredible sales! The sales just wouldn't slow down, people kept buying and buying, but this year, for the first time since 2013, the sales are showing a sharp decrease, and the stock's price went right along for the ride down, the market is saturated, the only way now is down... but this also means great news! Playstation 5 might be very near us.

Companies only care about one thing, PROFIT! Nothing else matters to them, with Playstation 4's sales going down Sony needs to push further for a new PlayStation to sell to the consumers, to trigger that good old human greed, especially now that Microsoft already said their new console is coming out in 2020.

Microsoft's Xbox vs Sony's Playstation is one of the few competitions that I like to follow, they both struggle trying to overthrow the other, and they both become better and cheaper because of it! This is what I like in capitalism, competition between companies normally improves the service and decreases the cost of the products, of course, sometimes it can backfire, sometimes the push for a launch can actually make a half-assed product be launched just to launch before the competitor's product, but this isn't usual.

Regardless of this, it seems it's happening again! With a decrease in sales and a new Xbox in the mix, Sony is putting the moves for a new PlayStation, and we probably already got a first image of the product. (Won't post the pictures here since I don't know if they are free source).

A Dutch blog called LetsGoDigital discovered a Sony patent filed with the World Intellectual Property Office for what looks like a design for a development kit for a new console! The design is attributed to Yasuhiro Ootori a man that was very closely connected with the launch of Playstation 4, and to add to the speculation fuel, it seems an artist for Codemaster tweeted out that it was real and they had one... of course, a few moments later the tweet was removed by him and his whole account was deleted.

From the information that both Sony and Microsoft released about their future consoles, it seems the specs are more or less the same for both, but only time will tell.

You might be wondering why am I talking about this... well, in my opinion, game releases, console releases, and other such products can be a great time to invest into the companies stock, a new Playstation or a new Xbox can be great stock pumpers, of course, they need to be good products, but they usually are...

So, in 2020, I would keep my eye on both Sony's and Microsoft's stock price, they might be great buys to hodl for years to come... who knows, maybe one of them might come out with a crypto wallet for future in-game blockchain-based items! Samsung already did it with the Enjin Wallet, why not Sony or Microsoft?!
