in #story8 years ago

Hello Steemers! I'll tell you about a story of greed. The story of a man who is never satisfied and continue to feel hungry. You may be amazed. And may be in your minds; whether there might be people like that?

At the time of the gods in Greek mythology, we know a man named Erysichthon. He is the son Triopas. And the father of Mestra.

Erysichthon is an arrogant man. He was not afraid of anything. He's also not afraid to anger the gods. One day he was cutting trees in a forest. People are reminded that the tree was not cut down. If the tree is cut down, it will trigger the anger of the gods. Erysichthon remain cut them down. As a result of the offense, a Dryad who lived in the tree dies. The other Dryad report this to the Demeter.

Demeter is is the goddess of the harvest and agriculture, who presided over grains and the fertility of the earth.

Demeter angry. Then punish Erysichthon with hunger insatiable. Erysichthon eat all the food he had, but he never felt full. Erysichthon then sold all of his belongings to buy food until he did not have anything. He only has his daughter. And because he was still hungry, he sold his daughter as well.

Mestra is a beautiful woman. Her beauty was heard up to the skies. Poseidon met Mestra. Poseidon offered something with Mestra. The offer was approved by Mestra.

Furthermore Mestra let the body be fucked by the god Poseidon. In return, Poseidon gave Mestra ability to change shape. With that ability, Mestra could always run away from people who have just bought. After the escape, Mestra returned to his father and Erysichthon sell again Mestra on others, so it went until finally Erysichthon desperate because of his hunger and he was eating himself to death.

That was destiny the unfortunate Erysichthon. This story could be an analogy for humans now. Modern man continues competing to greed. They are never satisfied with what they achieved. They never get enough of what they achieved.
