Drawing Warmup on January 27, 2018.

in #art7 years ago (edited)

duration of practice
30-45 minutes.

process:
draw lines and go over them 8 times or more as cleanly as possible.
this trains hands and eye coordination, as well as ability to focus.

will up-vote best efforts in the comments below.
happy drawing.

I could agree as far training hands precision is concerned. But how would this practice help in eye coordination and ability to focus?

because drawing is a balancing act between the hand, eye and mind.
these warm ups help me synchronize them before starting work.

nice question.

Thanks for satisfying answer. I never thought about this aspect of drawing.
We can call this drawing warmup as meditation too where we focus our mind on just one thing for some time.
Good one. I'll try this too in practical while taking little breaks from overloaded work situations.

yes, it seems like a mindless practice you can do but the benefit overtime will be great to get you in the flow of drawing. I agree that drawing can be a form of meditation and I think we are all capable of it as a natural ability with enough practice.

i'll be waiting for your lines with 8 time draw-overs.

The first line is drawn using the scale. Rest of lines I drew by hand tried to be accurate as much as possible.
Well, I must confess that despite of too many distractions around, I kept focusing on drawing lines. So, yeah focus could be improved through this.

good,
now draw over each line 8 times over, trying to straighten each line with each new stroke.

anyways, I got to go do family stuff now.
keep drawing and I'll check in later. :]

✌️
