Don't panic, I'm an exsp... DAD!

in #parenthood9 years ago

Good day!

What do you think, what should be a good father?

  • Attentive
  • Strong
  • Reliable

Anyone can interpret a "good father" in his own way and name a lot of qualities. But I already found something that makes my son proudly say to friends "my dad is cool"!

That's how I spent almost the whole day.

When my son broke the phone, I said - do not worry, I'll fix it. And he knows that I can do anything! He just gives me something broken (with such a stupid guilty look), and goes to school or walk. And when he returns, everything is working...

He does not know how I'm sweating, googling and tearing hair on my head in such situations :) Do not get me wrong, I like being a reliable father! And I do my best to make my son proud of me.

My permanent assistant in all matters :)

Great writing! I can relate to that as well! My daughter shows her pride for me as she is telling every one who'd like to hear (or not) that she has the best dad in the whole wide world. If something is broke he can fix it. She even tells me: "dad, shall I get the super glue for you". I really like to fix everything for her because the feeling she is so proud feels fantastic for me as a father. So I know the struggle of entering search term after search term in google to find a solution for what they have broken. But in the end it is worth every effort!

Hi @s3rg3 You are absolutely right! Shine in eyes of our children worth any spent time!

A Friend. We usually heard that there are children trusted their friends more than their parents. If we could become a friend towards our kids, then they might trust everything to us. It is important to everything about children, know what they are doing and who they are going with. Due to this we can give advices and guide them accordingly.

Hi @terrycraft. I know the feeling. Except I don't fix it because they don't break, they throw it away. I bought my kids Caterpillar phone to make sure that will not break it, but that did not even work. One of the phones are at the bottom a river (properly still working - it is a caterpillar...).
What type of "cat" do you have....?

Helo @krabgat! My son has a usual smartphone... I was thinking about buying a protected one, but it's not interesting :) Haha :)

I agree with you -- our children deserve our best!

Many people think that children should do their best, that would be proud of it... but I think it does not work like that. Children need to set a good example!

i would add FAIR to that list. . . ;)

I think so! This quality is worthy of a good father!
