The Pros and Cons with Globalization

Over a long period our planet has undoubtedly become more and more globalized. This is everything from our cultures to our monetary systems and government policies. But with the expansion of globalism the expansion of multinational corporations also has increased to never before seen height’s. Now with corporations and government working hand in hand to reach mutually beneficial deals you can slowly see our liberties being stripped away. In this essay i am going to explain the pros and cons of the current day globalized world.

Globalization is good for many things, some of these things are making trade easier through removing tariffs and customs. Another thing is by creating new spheres for investment through opening the markets with government supervision. And the third and most obvious thing is opening the global community so that world leaders may lay new grounds for human rights legislation and can easily negotiate with each other through institutions such as the United Nations. Yet with the world becoming more and more unitary, people go without asking themselves what it is that is uniting them. This is where central banking plays one of the biggest roles. Banks such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) give out loans to i.e. small African nations with interest rates they know the African states cant repay, placing the states to inevitable debt under the Banks. Even tough in some cases this capital goes to investing in irrigation and schools or improved infrastructure, Most of the times it comes in the hands of a few African corporations or Dictators whom expand their power with promises that they will repay their debts in resources to whom they took the loan from. By doing so the Banks have fully taken control of a sovereign nation through making sure the states accumulate debt which they cant repay. This is just one of many examples of how the globalized banking system places nations under debt which they cant repay. When Greece was at its high under its economic crisis the IMF along with the European Central Bank (ECB) said they would try to stabilize the situation by giving out loans. It ended with Greece having awfully high debts to the ECB because the interest rates were so high. Now the nation is trying to rehabilitate from its crisis, but every penny which is spent now is a loaned penny from the IMF. Which means that each time the government spends money they accumulate more debt. Tough if they were to get their markets up and running they could try and repay their debts. But with the debts being so high that is very unlikely to happen.
Since the expansion of globalism, the world has seen an emerging unitary world culture. This is predominantly dominated by American corporate culture which is fueling a consumerist lifestyle around the world. Corporations such as Coca Cola cover every TV no matter where in the world you are. And advertisement with girls wearing tight jeans and short tops is something which many cultures would reject, yet it is now part of their everyday life experience. Hollywood movies hit the theaters whilst domestic movies perish. There are exceptions tough such as Bollywood, but even they are now copying western movies. People often look at this as “humanity moving forward”, yet by saying so other cultures are being destroyed. Africans wearing jeans made in china with materials from Texas, is an example of how our current world culture is functioning. And to be honest I can’t see how this form of lifestyle is good for the inhabitants nor the planet. Instead I see this as a move by multinational corporations to make the whole world dependent on their monopoly. Tough by creating a unitary world, people have more in common around the world. If the thing they have in common is something positive or negative is up for debate. In my opinion I don’t see how being obsessed with snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, memes, YouTube and the overall global trend is healthy for anybody. By creating a one world culture I see how we are being thrown into a frenzy of confusion. Tough it is not so prevalent among the 80s generation and older, the globalized generation, also referred to as millennial's are the ones born in the end of the 90s and beginning of the 2000s. This generation grew up with video games, social media and the internet, and has been extremely exposed to global trends. And now throughout the world you can see big issues arising from this culture. One of these issues is the extreme migration to big cities, which is killing the life on the countryside. I could take an example of Indian farmer teens who because they have been exposed to western trends have decided to head towards the cities to work within IT. This has resulted in an economic boom but a cultural downfall. And with people becoming more and more fixated to follow the world trend and the big cities, people are becoming more and more unaware of their surroundings. People once found joy and meaning in their life on a local level, but now local life is seen as a nuisance. With people so fixated to follow the global trend, farmers and the core workers of our society have lost all their importance. And if you would ask somebody who believes in globalism, they would probably say that we have evolved away from mundane jobs such as farming and industry. Yet there is where I find the problem in our globalized society. We say that the core workers are no longer needed, yet we find everything we need on the market. The reason to why we have a large variety of commodities on the market whilst at the same time we are killing our core workers, is because we have turned to the exploitation of foreign labour. Western corporations are being subsidized by their governments to place their industries in developing nations. By doing so the corporations buy cheap labour and pay low wages to their workers, they then export the products to the western market. When the products enter the western market the corporations set a new price for the commodities and pay a small tax, once costumers start buying their products a sales tax is payed. By using this process of exploitation westerners can buy cheap products with a price which they find realistic, whilst the corporations and the government get their share of benefits. By removing the function of the core workers of our society and increasing consumer demand whilst migrating to large cities, this is the problems which we cause worldwide. This lifestyle fuels the destruction of our nature and the life's of many people around the world.
But globalism has also modernized much of the world which once was lost in its old methods. When the British empire conquered the Indian subcontinent in the 1800 century they brought with them technology and a ruling which gave women and the lower cast more power. They introduced Railways and more sophisticated government structure. Much of what they brought was to exploit the nation, but in the process they also modernized India to become the superpower it is today. The Railways where for the goods they would transport from the Indian factories to the shores of Mumbai and Goa, where British East India Trading Company ships would take the goods and bring them to Anglo shores. Many people suffered during this time period, but the British also brought a form of peace and prosperity which hadn't been seen. When the British left India they left the legal system untouched and the railways to the Indian people. From that point onward India became increasingly modernized and well organised, something which might not have happened if not for the British Raj. There are many aspects of globalism which must be overlooked when making a conclusion. But one thing is for certain and that is that our current pattern of trade is not sustainable and is destroying nature as we know it. One way to fix this problem would be for us to create more farming, industry and craftsmanship jobs on the market. By doing so we could create enough commodities to sustain ourselves and conduct trade in a mutually beneficial manner with other nations. But with the youth stuck with entitlements, cities, phones, global trends, internet and the focus of getting white collar jobs, this solution is unrealistic. The only way for us to keep globalism in an ethical manner would be to stop the exploitation of other countries. Globalism is one step we as humans inevitably have to go through, but doing so in a manner which doesn't harm nature or humans would be the best. But for this to happen people have to wake up to see that the globalized world we are living in now, is a fictional paradise which has its pillars in many of our world problems. With the world becoming more centralized, debt accumulation by nations is becoming more and more visible. Debt accumulation is the most dangerous behaviour a nation can turn to. Once you start to loan money from foreign banks your external debt increases, and with currency fluctuations and interest rates nations usually end up in a death spiral. A death spiral is when the nation loans money with interest they cant repay, and they loan more money to repay the debt of the first loan. This is called a death spiral because the pattern continues until the state has either had an economic crash or a surrender of power to the banks. The nation with highest debt as of now is Japan with a debt per person at 630 000 kr. This is the outcome of large government spending without organic funds, which has resulted in large debts which now are killing the nation from within. And with the debt being so high the Japanese government has now lost hopes of ever repaying it. You might wonder why not just have a high tax for a small period of time to generate enough capital to repay the debts. That solution could theoretically work, but when you run for election people will not vote for you unless you say that you will give more welfare or entitlements. Thus when entering government you cant repay the debts and keep the promises you made to your voters. This has resulted in a dogmatic form of politics where every politician simply walks past the debt to try and keep himself/herself in power. Now the government is run by large bureaucrats who work within big corporations and banks. Government no longer is a place for the voice of the people, but the interest of the banks and corporations whom have invested in the government. I believe that the Japanese people could unite to repay their national debt, but that would never be allowed. The government is controlled by the investors, the investors until the government repays their debts hold control of all its assets. And these assets include departments such as the military and police, the soldiers wouldn't have their salary in the first place if it wasn’t for the loan the government took. Central banking on a global scale is the largest threat to human liberties, it is a threat we cant see as we are blinded by its vastness. It stretches far beyond our imagination, to underground cartels, government agencies, world leaders, our pockets and our social order. Now with the world soon under control of the global banks which names I will not state, we are facing a great endeavour to restore our liberties. We are now gradually removing fiat notes and coins from our market, and Sweden has stated that we should aim to become a cashless society. And it has already been announced that implementing multi-functional integrated circuits in our bodies could be an answer in the future. By removing coins and notes from circulation you remove transparency, and by introducing (MFIC) you remove our liberties. Remove the notes and coins and you will be able to shut down and control the funds of any individual who makes uprising. By implementing (MFIC) you become a digital encrypted asset in a mega hard drive which can be regulated and tracked at any time. States such as China have already started to implement similar functions, which they use to regulate all opinions and media.
This might sound like a conspiracy theory or a book review of the Matrix. Yet when you open your eyes and you decide to find out the mysteries of our world, you will soon find yourself in a bubble of confusion to as why things are the way they are. And the moment the question “Why” arises you have entered a new dimension where you will not stop until your hunger for the answer has been quenched. The information which I have stated above are all from 6 years of studying world politics as an interest. This includes sources such as CSIS, CIA, FBI, JP.GOV, TradingGeonomics, Wikileaks and hundreds more.

Interesting, i believe globalization is a good thing. It will be the world together :)

Yes absolutely, I think a united world would be great. But I hope for us to create a world which is not run by big corporations or authoritarian governments. I would recommend creating a World Federation with direct democracy .
