CHRIST: THE ULTIMATE MESSAGE

Mark 9:4-8 (KJV); And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. And Peter answered and said, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make tabernacles ; one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elias. For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud saying , This is my beloved son: hear him. And suddenly, when they looked round about, they saw no man any more , save Jesus only with themselves.

When Peter saw Elijah and Moses, his first inclination was to build tents for them. He sought to preserve this experience by the "building of monuments."

However, glory and the experiences we access in God are not preserved by the "building of monuments."

These monuments are traditions and some have built them around the dispensation of the law(represented by Moses) and the dispensation of prophets(represented by Elijah).

Experiences are preserved by continuous fellowship with the person of the Christ.

This is why in our theme scripture, the voice of God instructs the apostles to ‘hear him.' The amplified Bible renders it as, ‘Be constantly listening to and obeying Him.’

Following this instruction from God, the Bible says that suddenly, they no longer saw any one with them except Jesus.

The mind of the Spirit herein is that all you need is to have the Christ, listen to his Word and obey Him.

He is the reconciliation and the fulfillment of the law and the prophets, the source and sum total of our experiences in glory. Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Glory and the experiences we access in God are preserved by continuous fellowship with the person of the Christ.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for the Christ, the ultimate gift. My eyes are set on him. He is the testimony of my glory and of all my experiences. I have touched, heard, seen and tasted Him, the Word of life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
