HER EXCELLENCY'S BIRTHDAY | charcoal portrait for her birthday gift 1/1/2022
Happy new year steemians and my fellow members of @worldofxpilar. Welcome to 2022. How was last year!? I hope everyone is doing great!? And I hope you had a productive and fruitful year!? From what I'm seeing, this year will be more fruitful. cheers 🥂 to us. More life. I'm here again with another realistic charcoal portrait. I want to present to you a realistic portrait drawing of Her excellency, as the boyfriend usually call her. which was commissioned by her boyfriend Odudu Ekan. They're famous couples in my town. People here look up to them in terms of having a blissful relationship life.
I had done the first portrait of her earlier last year but couldn't share it here.

Though I know Her excellency since I'm not too close to her as I am to her boyfriend. But I believe she's a good woman that's why his boyfriend keeps celebrating her on social media all the time. Almost everyone in my town knows them.
I and her boyfriend were school mates and won't lie, he's a nice fellow. I really enjoyed our friendship while we were in school. Odudu knows that artwork are the best gift on earth. Some people don't know this. Artworks are priceless and prestigious. That's why you can't find them on everybody's house like photography. This is not my only works with him. I had worked for him so many times. He apparently love gifting people artworks. I pray he becomes a billionaire so he can keep gifting people artworks till he leaves earth.
When you have good friends hold them tight for so many people are just selfish and not serious with even themselves. Odudu Ekan has always been there. He also hope for my success as an artist because he keeps introducing me to prime clients.
Though I don't know her excellency well, but I will enquire from the boyfriend how she reacted to the portrait.

Here are the steps on how I did the portrait.
I drew my grid lines and made my sketch then started shading it gradually as usual. Starting with the eyes, eyebrows and other features of the face. Now to achieve that realistic skin texture I had to sharpen my charcoal pencil for detailing, since the portrait is small and use my tombo mono zero eraser to erase lights, highlights and fine lines, making it real and accurate. especially on her furry hat.
