Anurag Yadav, a NEET candidate, has confessed that the leaked question paper provided by his uncle matched the actual exam paper. This confession, documented in a letter obtained exclusively by India Today, comes amidst ongoing investigations into result irregularities.

Yadav, who is 22 and the nephew of an engineer employed at Bihar's Danapur Town Council, admitted in his letter that his uncle, Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu, assured him that all necessary arrangements for the exam were made. When Yadav took the exam, he found that the question paper provided to him by his uncle matched the official exam paper.

This letter, bearing Yadav's signature, was accessed shortly after India Today revealed another confessional note by Yadavendu. These documents suggest the involvement of a political figure, referred to as 'Mantri Ji,' who allegedly arranged for Yadav and his associates to stay at a government bungalow in Patna.

In response to these revelations, the Union Education Ministry has requested a detailed report from the Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit concerning the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam conducted in Patna. According to a senior ministry official, the government is committed to maintaining the integrity of examinations and will take stringent action against any individuals or organizations involved in misconduct.

The NEET UG exam, held on May 5 across 4,750 centers, saw the participation of approximately 24 lakh candidates. Although the results were expected on June 14, they were announced earlier on June 4 due to the expedited evaluation process. Allegations of question paper leaks and other irregularities have led to protests and legal actions in several courts, including the Supreme Court.
