Hello Learners!

I've been busy with work that I haven't prepared lessons for @steemiteducation recently, but now, I decided to share the lesson I had with my student earlier today. So, let's study some "WEATHER IDIOMS".

A: It was raining cats and dogs last night that I couldn't sleep really well.

A: Yeah... Good thing the weather is fine now.
B: The weather forecast said it might rain again tonight, though.

B: Huh? Why? What happened?
A: I woke up late this morning with a terrible hangover, so obviously I was late for work. Boss got really angry at me gave me twice the usual task. I had to cancel my date tonight because I need to work overtime... and guess what? My girlfriend is furious about it!
B: Ohh... I'm sorry to hear that. When it rains, it pours!
A: (sigh) Yeah right...

Sample Dialogue:

A: Sir, how did you become this successful?
B: Actually, it's because of my great motivation. After losing my job a couple years ago, it inspired me to build up my own small business. It was tough at first, but I didn't give up.
A: Wow! That's great. Every cloud has a silver lining.
B: For sure. You just have to be optimistic and live on.

It’s a storm in a teacup.

  • a disproportionate reaction of anger, concern, or displeasure over some minor or trivial matter.

Sample Dialogue:

A: Why are there a lot of people here?
B: They're protesting against that company.
A: ABC Company??? I think this protest will die down soon enough.
B: That's true. I think this is just a storm in a teacup.

Come rain or shine.

Sample Dialogue:

A: I'm having mixed feelings about this contest. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
B: It's natural to feel that way. It's your first time to join an international singing contest anyway.
A: That's true, but what if I lose?
B: Come rain or shine, I'll always support and be here for you!
A: Thank you so much!

Another Idiom

Thank you @whalepower!!! ^^ I hope so.. hihihi ^^

After a long long time shei-sensei.
It's raining cats and dogs really made me laugh remindin me what bro said.
For an exam, the essay was to complete the story. The given part of the story's been,
''Yesterday when I woke up after an evening nap, it was raining cats and dogs''
One of bro's friends have written, ''Oh my gosh, I couldn't believe my eyes. Cats and dos were falling down. what should I do?'' and had made the story like that :D
So we should know the idioms otherwise we might get the whole meaning wrong. Thanks for sharing and I hope everyone finds this helpful as much as I am.

OMG! That was hilarious!!!! Yes, we really should acquaint ourselves with idioms! ^^ Thanks for sharing that interesting story, Chamu! ^^
Yeah... Shei-sensei is finally back... ^^ After today, I'll try to manage my time more effectively so I can continue making educational posts here, too. ^^

I did learn something! I have never heard, "It's a storm in a teacup." Interesting! : ) Tip!

I'm glad you did... And thanks for the tip... ^^

said to emphasize that every difficult or unpleasant situation has some advantage

This line really caught my attention and its really inspiring to read phrases like this each day. Thanks shei

Yep.. Let's always try to look at the brighter side of things!!! ^^ You're always welcome, Juls!! ^^
