The new 'smart credit cards' - fortune or failure?
Fortune or failure?
Most of us by now have heard of the failure of some of the new crowdfunding 'smart cards' which are designed to act as multiple of the cards you hold in your wallet every day, credit or loyalty card.
- If you haven't google 'pastc cards'.
But what if....
What if it does work?
But what if it does work and a company can team up with banks to create an amazing card that you will literally be able to put all into one... where does that take us and how do I sign up?
I am all for technology and I am always the first person trying to get my hands on new things!
Does this open up new opportunities for hackers and scammers?
Well.... the design is to make it more secure than your average card. However, I am sure with having the card use Bluetooth it would make it much easier to get your hands on someone personal details (there goes your phone battery from having Bluetooth connected all the time)
It's a electronic world out there and electronic warfare is huge. It is scary. I would like to see the security behind these things and the updates they bring out to ensure safety of ones card and personal details.
The possibility of it working..
There is no looking away, these cards will come out and you know it. Technology is always advancing and there's no slowing down. The possibility of it working and being in our hands very soon is somewhat exciting and scary.
I mean how easy would it be to walk down to the shop, take one card and having all your loyalty cards plus your spending cards on the one card. Not to mention Bluetooth arrival so your favourite stores are able to see you're coming and personally greet you as you walk in.
So fortune or failure?
I think there has to been failure for there to be fortune. I have no doubt this will be our future and I am excited for how this rolls out.
It won't work. Sending your cryptos is the last thing you want to do now. Remember the guy who paid 10000 BTC for 2 pizza? Well, you could be him if you spent some of those cryptos on this card ... $100,000 for a latte using a card?
Very very true. That would suck haha! But dont you think it's coming anyways. For the average every day person it would be great... Well The theory behind it anyways!
