Middletown, Indiana is small like town located half way between Muncie, Anderson and New Castle. I am not 100% sure if that is where it gets its name at or not but that is what I was always told when I was growing up. Middletown was settled in 1829. People lived in the area but it was in 1829 that it was platted for settlement. It was incorporated as a town 11 years later in 1840.

Middletown has a beautiful town park for such a small little town. There is just over 2,000 people that live in this little sleepy town. I think there are three places to grab a bite to eat at in Middletown but I am having a hard time recalling what the third option is, the other two options are pizza places.

Downtown Middletown looks like it is slowly being restored. As most of the building looked like the way this first photo looks just a few years ago.

Here is a photo of one of the restored buildings, it looks a ton better than it use to look.

But some of them as you can see still need a lot of work.

They town of Middletown has been working hard to revitalize their sleepy little town and they are really doing a great job. The town park has a free water splash pad area for people to play and cool off on hot days. A beautiful creek that runs through the park, a really nice play ground and a nice baseball diamond area. I can't wait to see it when they have all the old buildings fully restore and business in them again, as it is sad to see old towns die.

In little towns you find unique little places like this. You rarely find gems like this in big cities.

If you are into historical stuff and are traveling in Central Indiana drive through Middletown. Maybe stop and grab a pizza and take it down the street and have a picnic at the park and enjoy the scenery.

Thanks for sharing... Love it.

3 places to eat isn't many for there being 2,000 people...

Wow. I can't imagine having only 3 places to eat, but I live in LA, so I'm spoiled by having anything and everything.

That town sort of reminds me of where my dad lives in Missouri. Cute place to visit.

there are three bigger towns with in a 15 minute drive where there are a ton of places to eat at.

Looks like a peaceful little town...I love the old buildings <3

It is a really nice little place. I like to travel around to parks and the one in this town is one of my favorites, and I love the old buildings, it has character
