LEGO is slowly moving away from plastic
There is probably no person in the world who would not associate the characteristic colorful plastic LEGO bricks. The Danish manufacturer has been looking for a more ecological material for years, which could be replaced by plastic and recently he found the material.
The producer announced that the production of a new series of blocks has already started - for now they will be green elements such as leaves, bushes and trees, and they will be completely unique, because they are to be made of a natural equivalent of polyethylene, which is to be made of sugar cane.
The new plastic is supposed to be durable, yet quite flexible, and at the same time it has to meet the stringent standards that LEGO subjects all its products to - customers do not even notice the difference between the new, ecological polyethylene and its classic version.
The Danish company is moving slowly, in small steps, to full ecology, but it will have to wait for it - by 2030, it wants to use only "green" materials in all its packaging.
