Giant Wind Turbine
Several times, all emphasis has been on Solar Energy when renewable energy as focal point comes into discussions. Therefore, concerning this undisputed popularity; a known fact is that- it was readily available than its counterparts, and slightly cheaper than them.
Wind Mills, the older cousin to Wind Powered Energy seems the earliest form of Renewable energy than Bio-fuels, Solar etc which all have their unique advantages but each with a perculiar certain conditions and Geo-locations. So for Coastal Areas, Wind Energy comes to play as the most ideal.
The World has never produced more electricity from Wind before, the newest 9.5 Mega Watts turbine can provide enough power/energy for an average of 8000 homes at once!
In the United Kingdom, at the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm off the Coastal landscapes: an 8 Mega Watts wind turbine had already been install before this larger capacity was commissioned and bagged World Record.
With an additional 1.5 Mega Watts to the reigning 8 MW, this Gigantic structure stands at 195 metres from Sea level to the blade tip, each turbine uses blades measuring 80 metres long.
A wind farm with 200 units of this turbines equals the production of a typical Nuclear power plant!
