The MSI GTX 1060 3GB Mining
I just got this graphics card to start mining with on my intel motherboard. It mines ETH at the moment and gets between 18-19MH/s -- This earns roughly 3.70-4.15 a day in Bitcoin value.
I use Nicehash Miner to run the card, and it is running at stock overclock values.
This card cost 224.99 + tax -- and should pay for itself between 2 & 3 months of mining.
Have you considered mining an altcoin instead? BCN and SC are both super mineable and always going up in value lately.
Well ETH is an altcoin, right? ^_^ It sometimes automatically switches to Equihash (I Think ZEC? Maybe) when it becomes more profitable using the Nicehash Miner -- I am also mining this new coin "credits" https://crds.io with my free google cloud credits, and XMR with my CPU =]
@technium Can you somehow contact me and elaborate a little bit on your free google cloud credits and mining the new "credits" coin ??
I dont remember how I got the free cloud credits, some code maybe, but gave me 300$ in credits to use on VPS', I spun up the lowest cost machines and cloned them to mine with hundreds of their machines on a new coin with little mining competition, for free ^_^
you're a genius @technium ;D I would like to look into this more and see... a friend mentioned using AWS to cloud-mine but it doesn't seem feasible because you have to pay per hour if you want to use a decent system with a decent gpu...
I remember I had some google cloud services with about $500 in credit, maybe I can finesse something like that to help mine a bit!
Yea it is definitely worse than actual cloud-mining services or real mining to pay for AWS at their prices, you would lose much more than gain ^_^
So i've figured. Think it would even be feasible to use the 750 hours free a month for 12 months? (750 hours = 31.25 days...so it's basically 12 months free) of at least 1 extra CPU machine, maybe I can use it for some cpu-mining ? Think this is reasonable? You are probably more experienced than me!
I can show you or post about the configuration of the AMI (amazon machine image?? something like that)
I would pump it up so you are getting maybe, twice the hashrate in half the time, because rewards on all coins as well as competition and difficulty become much stronger as time goes on
