Refurbishing a garden table and chairs.

Hi there fellow Steemians.

Another fun job we got to do was this beautiful hand built garden table with 5 chairs.

Its always a satisfying feeling to restore something to its former glory. To take that step back and look at what you did and admire it.

This is also a fairly easy job as it also only requires sanding and some wood sealer oh and a total re-asembly of all the chairs.

The original colour of the set was very very dark so it needed quite a bit of sanding which is not bad it just requires alotbof labour to the job.

After sanding every last bit we sorted all of the pieces to be able to complete the job a little easier. It was quite a bit confusing assembling the first chair but after him we caught up quickly.

(And you might wonder why we were confused... You see the thing is we didn't disassemble the chairs we received it from someone already in pieces... Yes yes this is also a job where we have to finish other people's work)

But we got this 😁

After the first three chairs were built and the 4th's glue still busy drying we started work with the 5th chair it was missing a few parts which we never got from the client. It was quite a interesting as we are using a different wood to patch it up with. Although it will still look really nice.

After applying glue on the wood we used these big.. I almost want to say industrial clamps. Even though they are not. We kept them on for atleast 3 hours before removing them allowing the glue to set properly.

Luckily for us not too many parts were missing(at that time) and all we needed was 6 short pieces of wood in order to build the seating area for the last chair. We cut it out and shaved all the excess wood of this giving the wood a fresh new look.

After preparing the wood we had to measure out the guide holes as we used pins to glue the wood together. We use guide holes in order to prevent the wood from cracking.

After assembling all the chairs I quickly gave them a flatting with the sanding paper before we applied the woodsealer

I do think it did not come out bad. I do have to say I love the shine of it.

I did post this picture at the begin of this article but I just could not end it without this one.. So here it is again guys. I would say this is going to look very beautiful on your back lawn. Or under a Lapa area.
