Weekend Musings: Do You Prefer Branded Items?
Happy weekend everyone!
I've never been a proponent of branded items. I felt they are overpriced and are merely feeding off their brand power to charge higher. In some cases, that's true. But as I would realize today, sometimes branded items charge a premium for good reason.
My external mouse has been giving me intermittent issues the past few weeks, and a few days back, the issue got worse. Since I wasn't all too happy with my external keyboard as well (stuck and difficult-to-press keys), I decided perhaps it's time to get myself a new one.
On the store, there were a few variety of brands to choose from, some brands more popular than others. The higher end Logitech would easily be twice the price of the lesser known brands. Thinking that a keyboard is a keyboard -- I mean, how different could one be from the other -- I went ahead and purchased the lesser known brand.
And that's when I realized: No, not all keyboards are created equal!
The cheaper keyboard seemed similar at first glance, but once I started typing, it just had a different feel altogether. Yes, the differences seemed minute, but I can feel these minute issues starting to impact my productivity already. And my work being dependent heavily on my computer (not to mention blogging on steemit), what could be more important than productivity?
So lesson learned. My intent to save backfired. An additional trip to the tech store later, I'm now happily typing on my brand new Logitech keyboard and mouse.
Hats off to Logitech for providing quality keyboards and mouse. You totally deserve the premium price.

I've been buying Logitech keyboards and mice for over a decade. Agreed that their products are top quality as I still use the peripherals from years ago. I may have an affixing because I'll buy their new mice, so now I just have extra mice laying around.
Yeah, I'm with you now on that! Thanks. :)
