Sharing Steem to Others

in #steem8 years ago

How popular is Steem in your country? Besides your inner circle of friends, have you come across anyone talking about Steem or Steemit? Seen any marketing billboard on Steem? Or anyone wearing a Steem shirt?

If you haven't, take it as a good sign! That can only mean there's a lot more potential for Steem to grow further. Just imagine when Steem can get to the same talking level that Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin enjoys today. Greater acceptance does bode well to the overall Steem price, right?

Lately, I've been promoting Steem to some of my friends. While they have not reached my level of enthusiasm yet, almost everyone has taken it quite positively. Since it's the first time they're directly participating in "coin mining", unsurprisingly, the question I often get is, "who's paying for all the upvotes?"

I didn't realize how difficult this is to explain to someone who hasn't been exposed to the cryptocurrency scene. It's not as simple as saying "the system pays for it". Instead, I just tell them not to worry about this too much at the start. There's a wealth of information hidden in Steem, and you'll have to dig deep to not just to find the answer to that question but also to understand the very system that makes the Steem world spin.

So for the time being, treat it as a regular blog. If you already have a blog or if you're a regular Youtube content creator, it shouldn't be difficult to blend in to Steem. It works the same way. Create content that people will appreciate, gain some followers, create more content, gain more followers, and so on.

This is how I wish I started back in July last year. Instead, I started getting hit with dozens of new terminologies -- Steem Power, Voting Power, Steem Dollars, etc etc. This discouraged me to continue right before I even started. But now that I've grasped most of the basics, I'm seeing Steem in a new light. It's a mix of fun, challenges, opportunities, and so much more!

I'm enjoying every minute of my stay here, and I earnestly hope more people in each of our countries can learn of and experience this. It can only mean great things for everybody.

Thanks for reading.

Lol, this is how I've decided to enjoy Steemit, I just want to be in a community of content creators. There's so much to read here and I'm loving it. I won't really bother myself about the pay for now, I will just blog, upload contents, write comments, follow people and enjoy my stay here.

Thanks @oluwadunsin. Have a great time indeed. My suggestion is try to pick up some great tips on Steem along the way. There are avenues that can help you grow your account at the same time you're enjoying. Installing and joining Discord groups, being active in your local communities, etc these are all avenues that we can tap right now. The important thing is the willingness to immerse yourself into the experience. And don't be afraid to ask. We're all here for each other! :)
