2017 is going to be big for live streaming.

especially for those trying to reinforce existing products, platforms and services. it will become common to have a live stream as internet becomes faster. it will become expected, like having a website was for a small business.

as someone who has experimented over the years with live streaming and learning what i need to know about platforms, software and the hardware that you need i've realised how big an area it is and why people still don't use it like they could. it's a lot of work and it's hard to do it all on your own.

from the 1st of january 2017 skillshare is changing the way that teachers are getting paid to 'premium minutes' instead of premium enrollments. this basically means instead of having premium signups we need to have premium content, maybe longer but ultimately more ENGAGING - students are here to be taught and so skillshare have decided that the longer someone watches a course is the metric in which we will earn income.

i've been wanting to push myself more to engage with the students who are following, signing up and taking part in the content i put out, i've started sharing on steemit, a blockchain powered blogging network and in 2017 i want to do even more - i want to start a live stream reviewing show.

the show will tap into the wisdom of the crowds knowledge and i'm looking to get a number of teachers to take part in the show (if no takers, just me!) so we can go over courses and teachers we think are doing great content and find out the process behind the scenes. we hope that this will stimulate course taking, engagement and viewing of those courses and humanise the connection back to the instructor.
