Learning Tutorial & How-to @Dlive — the benefits of @steemhunt product hunting and the real world engagement of twitter.

Firstly, let me explain the three point structure really simply..

hunted product > resteemed to my blog > auto posted to twitter

It’s really that easy in operation. My other half @dayleeo had posted a really neat application on @steemhunt yesterday that did really well in the top 10 from a bunch of factors — great presentation, great writeup, great product — the trifector basics of getting a good hunt moving up the charts.

I liked it that much that I decided that my steem blockchain audience of followers should also see that so I resteemed that from the button on the steemhunt website, it asks you if you are sure and then you get the usual resteem of that blog post (think tumblr) onto mine.

Everything that I post to my blog is then picked up by an autoposting service that I use called twibble that autoposts my latest blog articles to my 10k following on twitter (the size is important, you’ll see why) automatically without any intervention from me.

So it was kinda cool to wake up today to this in my twitter notifications. .

Basically they must be running some kind of twitter search bot looking for mentions of their timeshifter app being mentioned — any decent social team will do this because it’s a conversation that can be engaged or used to amplify the effect of awareness around a product, it’s how the modern day word of mouth works — steemhunt is the cause, twitter caused the effect.

So why is the size of the twitter account important?

Well having met the team behind the mcdonalds account (yes they have a legal manual of things they can say 24/7 around the clock that’s been run past legal) I realised that most of their systems work on ‘social proof’ or ‘weight’ of your social accounts — the biggest damage limitation accounts with the most followers TEND to get looked first because they want to NIP in the bud any issues or use the VOLUME of your reach to maintain a conversation with an engaged audience around the topic — in their situation is could be a late night photo of people enjoying a maccys together that goes viral or the fact you found a toenail in your chicken sandwich.

Both in some way are potentially going to go viral depending on the audience size, the same goes for ‘influencers’ — I’m not talking about the people that have no idea how to review a product and say everything is ‘good’ or ‘cool’ without knowing anything about it.

ahem. sorry, rant over.

Basically what I’m trying to say is this, your voice travels, what you make, what you do, what you feedback on a product get’s back to the people that make it, they learn from it, it might shape their next video set of education, it might even get you a part time job — your voice and the weight of the community that follows you is valuable in an ever expanding ‘attention economy’ based distracted, short term memory world.

why incentivised hunting is influencing 3.0

Steemhunt has already got the drop on something like product hunt because it uses the steem blockchain, it’s already gearing up to do it’s own airdrop and it’s working towards having an SMT whenever that code base is ready to be released into the wild — it’s making moves and the potential of verticals for the service from here on out are super interesting to me.

That’s why I’m committed to the service as a MOD and as someone collecting HUNT tokens for when they roll out the other verticals they have planned for the service later on — they even just took on another DEV to help with the additional work it’s going to require.

but you can be using your hunting to amplify now

Quite simply by hunting you are creating potential SEO data that can be found by companies who make the products if you have your social and social marketing locked down, something simply as a blog post sharing to twitter got a like and then a follow and no doubt rose some interest to the link in the first place — I can imagine the first question is ‘what is steemhunt’ — and it’s in those areas that I intend to do the most work with my courses.

I’ll be putting together a little tutorial about twibble soon so you can do the same thing with your steemit blog and start spreading the message through your twitter account(s)

Peace x
