attempting to setup the docker steem miner!
so i'm attempting to get the docker image working. .
i'm not sure what i'm doing.
i'm doing it anyway.
i have lots of text flying by.
that's exciting.
i think it's either showing me a log of transactions.
or bringing me a copy of the steem blockchain.
kinda following the instructions from https://github.com/steemit/steem
i'm interested in 'taking part' so i guess i should find out how to mine!
i'm run on a fairly beefy imac with 16gb, i've done the 2gb dockerized p2p node image.
docker is running at 250/300% right now. damn.
i'm wondering how many 'blocks' to sync their might be. ..
think i understand i have to run a miner command too after this.
any tips people? :)
i'm not on a fixed connection here, 4g - 40 meg down and 20 ish up.
but i may go back to co-working in the new year
and we have gigabit connection there.
i'm thinking that's gonna be useful for something like this!

i've tried my username here and i've tried a variety on that to be unique. i can't tell if i'm mining or even how i get what i've mined out. helps needed! :) - https://github.com/steemit/steem can only tell me so much. anyone want to hand hold me a little?
so now i'm trying this - https://steemit.com/steemhelp/@eliteturbo/mining-steem-on-aws-free-tier - had more success actually, nearly up and running. as a walkthrough it's great. learning something new each day!
so i tried a number of ways. docker, aws, local on mac. all in all a very 'geeky' and 'broken' experience. i think i'll wait until i've got more time to spare on it. .
