Mind of May Sculpture, Qingdao, China

The Wind of May sculpture commemorates a pro-democracy movement in China in 1917. The movement was de-railed when the Allies failed to keep promises made to China in WW1. The background is the Olympic Sailing Center where the 2008 Olympic rowing and sailing events were held. The Olympic rings are visible to the left of the 60 ton sculpture.
