Resisting temptation

Today I went direct to the office when I got to the city for two reasons, one I had an early morning eating, on secondly Becca use I wanted to take an extended lunch and got check out the Photoplus Expo here in NYC in the Javits center, which I did heading up there a little after 10 Am, taking the Bus up 42nd Steem to get to 11th Ave and walk to the Javits Centre, I will share a few shots I took while walking around the show, by the time I left the show I was around 6.5k Steps and I walked to 42nd Street and was thinking about catching a bus, but I realized with the traffic I would probably be able to walk quicker than the bus would go, so I walked back to 1st Ave and my Office, and I was right I saw a bus half a block ahead of me when I started walking down 42nd Street, which I passed before 6th Avenue.

As for the title for this post resisting temptation, I managed to spend a good amount of time a the expo and resisted the urge to but anything, but I did confirm what my next purchase or two will be :)

I normally try to find a previous shot taken with my camera that somehow relates to my walking today. today I am stretching it a little as the rest of my shots are at the photo expo but I did walk by this spot on my way back to the office, this is on Park Ave looking towards the MetLife building and Grand Central

Starting with a shot of the Javits centre before I went in, on the big billboard there as I was about a block away it had been showing a Photoplus Expo sign, but when I got to this point, it was rotating through other things I waited for what felt like 15 Minutes (which knowing my lack of patience probably means it was somewhere between 2 and 5 MInutes )for the Photoplus Expo one to come up again but it never did so I went with this instead

The Javits Center is pretty big, enough to hat is was hosting two expos at the moment, but its going to get even bigger s this next shot shows an expansion is being built.

I got there not to long after it opened at 10AM so the queue to pick up your badge was fairly short and quick moving, the good thing about this expo is if you registered before it opened it was free, and I always like free.

As I entered the expo area I saw the Peak Design stand one of the ones i wanted to visit, I have some of their gear, and was interested to take a look at there new Innovate tripod recently released, it was very nice but I decided the one i have for now is good enough for me.

I was surprised that Sony did not have a setup there but I just read they had there own show called Sony Creative Space a couple of bocks from the Javits Center, I was I had known that before walking back as I would have checked it out as well.

But Tamron had a big setup there, so I got to get a hands on feel for some of their lenses and am now pretty much decided on what my next lens will be and it will be their 1-27 F2.8 lens nice and small and seems pretty good to me

Looking down one of the Aisles gives you an idea of how big the place is, and this was again very early on, about half an hour later all these aisles were packed with people.
I did see the Lume Cube setup early on and decided to thing about it a bit before deciding to get one or not and walked around a bit, by the time i got back there their Booth was swamped with people so I ended up not getting one today but its a nice small portable light that may come in handy at some stage, so I will most likely order either one of them or the other brand quite Similar the Litra Torch to have in my camera bag, maybe very soon with the days gettign shorter and my morning walks being in the semi dark it may be handy to have

And a last shot down one of the aisles, it was getting buskers by then so I put my phone away and my Camera bag inthe bag and then looked in detail at some of the stands, saw lots of cool stuff and was tempted a few times but I managed to resist temptation and leave empty handed, and I am not to sure who is more shocked at that me or my wife 😂
