Friday in St. Petersburg
It's a little walk down Bolshaya Morskaya (Big Sea) Street. I started taking pictures when I saw this summer restaurant veranda. These verandas were allowed to open a week ago, and they're very popular. It is forbidden to be inside restaurants, only to buy take-out food - or sit outside on the restaurant veranda. In warm, sunny weather, it's even more pleasant outside.
The entrance to the restaurant is blocked by a table. The trays with food from the kitchen are brought here. The courier with a thermal backpack is waiting for the order to be delivered.
I cross Nevsky Prospekt and find myself on a pedestrian section of Bolshaya Morskaya Street. This is a favorite place for artists and musicians. It sells paintings that are created right on the spot. You can get your portrait or caricature if you pose for fifteen minutes.
Usually there are a lot of souvenir sellers here, but now they are much smaller due to the absence of tourists in the city. But T-shirts and caps are still easy to buy here.
There's a music band just before you go out into the square. Spectators are placed in a semicircle on granite slabs. It's the end of the street, or to be precise, the beginning of the street. At the front is Palace Square, the central square of our city.
