@tipu: Tipping Service on Steem
I omitted a bit part of a post I put up the other day.
@tipu came up with an innovative way for one to enjoy the benefits of delegation while not being constrained by the power down period. This is done using the TPU token they created. One can swap the payout of SBD and STEEM for TPU which increases the delegation. Through the Steem-Engine platform, these tokens can be swapped for STEEM.

The feature that I omitted was the fact that tipu is a tipping service. It allows one to directly compensate people followed with STEEM. This is done automatically once some STEEM is deposited and the author(s) is chosen.
For now, this is a bit basic yet there are updates that will be added to the website to make it easier.
In the dashboard, there is placements for depositing and tipping. Both those services are under construction although I expect them to be completed soon. The team seems very good at updates.

Tipping is something that is starting to get some attention in the cryptocurrency and social media worlds. Twitter and some other applications are using this technique to reward other users. It is good that we have it on Steem.
Upvotes are a great way to help other accounts. However, tipping those who provide content that you really like is a great way to show additional appreciation for what is being created.
It is a simple but effective premise. The entire amount is transferred to the author directly into his or her wallet. None of this comes under the base layer content/reward system. It is a layer two solution so it does not affect payouts or curation.
If you have some authors you regularly follow this could be a great way to show your appreciation.

Quick question, if I reinvest my profit(from delegation) into STEEM/SBD instead of tokens, will that be used for tipping?
Yep, it can be (it will create you a deposit) but this function is disabled for now (@tipu is out of SP to back the reinvested SBD/STEEM)
