The "Ownership" MindsetsteemCreated with Sketch.

We have a number of dedicated people in this ecosystem. This comes through in the passion people have for what is taking place. While we are not going to be in agreement about everything, we cannot deny the dedication that people have.

It is interesting to see where this comes from. Many are loyal participants, dedicating a lot of time and effort on here. This is a wonderful thing to see. There is, however, one other things that really takes this to another level.

There is no better way to foster the "ownership" mindset then to have a little money involved. When there is some cash on the line, no matter how much, it becomes more real. The interest level, along with the dedication, grows.

Some of the most respected people on Steem are not only authors/curators, but also investors. They put their money on the line and bought STEEM. This, of course, helps in their activity on here while also increasing their dedication.

Why is this important?

The obvious reason is they would not do this if they did not see a future here. Few are willing to just piss their money down the drain. If the long-term outlook was awful, these people would not be buying STEEM nor powering up. Yet they are.

Naturally, we do not see this from everyone. It is sad when people are passing up an opportunity. Alas, life presents opportunities, the question is who is willing to take advantage of them? Most often, these opportunities come bundled with risk.

When I joined, there were a lot of people who were mentioning how lucky the bigger accounts were to be able to buy STEEM at 7 or 10 cents. Luck is often nothing more than timing.

At that time, I was buying STEEM for about $1.30. My highest buy was $2 with most having in the lower range. From that point, STEEM kept going up to over $8.

The fortunate part of the situation is the crypto bear roared. We are back to levels, in price, below when I joined. We are now under 50 cents for STEEM.

This means that one can become a Minnow for slightly over $200. This is a big advantage to those who are looking to improve their stake quickly.

We will come to a point where people will be talking about how lucky people are being able to buy STEEM for 50 cents. The bear will not be alive forever. We will see the bull run again.

So if you want to change your outlook on Steem, buy a few tokens. This is the quickest way to the ownership mindset.

This is not financial advice and never put in more than you can afford to lose.

What I find interesting is the people who are willing to buy into EOS heavily now. Yes, they will do fine most likely, but there are almost a billion coins in circulation so when the prices are 7 odd dollars, the influence it buys is minuscule for a staked system.

I bought Steem at around 2 dollars the first time I bought and then held all the way up and all the way back down and beyond. I have bought more since then at around the 30c range. What I found after buying back in 2017 is that doing so piqued my interest to learn more about the way the platform operates at a much broader level than as a content contributor.

This should be bookmarked at the top of every page on all interfaces on Steem.

It really sums up what happens.

My buying patterns were similar to yours. I am still holding. In fact, another pullback in the price and I will add more to my stake.

What a great post (and discussion we had). I am glad I've put some money in and my in-steem ROI must be amazing. 1sp curation daily is usual for me. 1 FREE SP every day, which gains value in steem day by day .etc. why wouldn't you? 😁👍

The compounding effect is really helpful to people on Steem and who understand it.

Everything builds upon what went before.

Having started to buy Steem around $4, I feel it is a steal down here and continue to add to my position!
