Splinterlands And GrowYourBase Team Up
There was an article that appeared on Medium the other day that shows the outreach by Splinterlands (@steemmonsters) is starting. It was written by the GrowYourBase team stating how they teamed up with the popular blockchain game.
The main idea behind this project is to enable users to earn tokens while learning about different games. It also provides people with insight into what cryptocurrency is all about.
As the name implies, the idea behind this platform is for projects with tokens to grow their user base. By rewarding people for doing associated tasks, not only can the users themselves earn directly but, also, the bounty program can bring in other people.
According to their website, the reach of this platform is 2.5M people.
People who are on Steem are well aware of the impact this game has on the ecosystem. @aggroed and @yabapmatt are two of the more dedicated Steemians, so it is no surprise their project is seeking to reach outside the ecosystem. They already teams up with Tron to offer the users from that platform the ability to access the game.
New users are being handed a $10 starter pack to get them going. This is provided absolutely free by the team in an effort to familiarize people with Splinterlands. While there might be some who just sign up for the pack, a certain percentage will get involved. From what I can see by the posts on Steem, once one gets started, it is hard to turn away.

As you can see from the tasks, it involved a combination of providing some coverage for Splinterlands (Tweeting) along with signing up to increase the user base.
It is good to see the team behind this project working on outreach and looking for ways to grow the game. This will only have positive impact upon Steem.
Here we see the benefits of this new economic model aligned as a cooperative. As Splinterlands reaches out, it helps every other application on the blockchain by bringing more potential users into the ecosystem. The same holds true for whatever the other applications do. While most will only use the application that brought them here, there are going to be a percentage that do branch out and learn more about the entire ecosystem.
Good job to the Splinterland team on this one. I hope the partnership is widely successful.

That’s pretty awesome, I think the biggest draw for people into the Steem environment is going to be through games. It’s cute to think of investing or crypto being the driver but lots of people could care less about that. They want to game and that’s what they want. Eventually some will learn other parts of the environment but the initial route is gaming.
