It is easy to look at cryptocurrency as a financial instrument. While it has that aspect, this view is overlooking the technical side of things.
As countries around the world try to position themselves as leaders in the new era. The United State, with its unclear regulation and servitude to the bankers, is already falling behind the rapidly evolving industry.
Many companies that can pursue innovation off shore will find that dealing with customers in the United States as too much of a nightmare. It will not be surprising to see them give up on the customer base altogether. The cost of trying to comply might override the potential revenues.

I agree with you completely. I live in Switzerland in the Crypto Valley and am part of some of what is going on in crypto here. The pace they are building is astounding and the regulators seem to "get it"

jeremy Rifkin, he is an economist and talks about the 3rd industrial revolution and it describes exactly what is going on in the world and blockchain makes perfect sense in there, so does steem in the sharing economy
I feel like it's hard to believe but I think secretly they are doing the best position out of any country by not doing anything about it but taken advantage without anyone knowing.....

Then competition will diminish, which will allow the ones that stay to raise their prices. The market is big enough to still be interesting, but it will come with higher prices for sure.
In the end any kind of risk to the business will be paid for by the customer.
You will now see the US use its power to try to influence others to stop this but the fact of opportunity and development in this technology being so far ahead, it will be an uphill battle for them to stop it.
