3d Modeling - Porsche 356B Speedster using Blender
After 4 weeks using Blender I tried to model something challenging, a Porsche 356B Speedster from the 60's and I am happy to share the result with you.
In the following I will show some pictures and gif's on the modelling process that might be interesting to you.
1.Add Reference Image
To model a car as realistic as possible it is useful to have some reference images, specially showing the perfect orthographic view from the side, top, and front. I learned that a great reference side for Car blueprints is the- blueprint.com site.
After some searching I found this free blueprint image I used as my reference.
Next I put the image into Affinity Photo and cut out the various views in order to align those later in Blender.
2.Start Modeling
Once the various views are added to Blender, I toggled the quad view using the key combination CTRL+CMD+Q. This allows to keep on top of the shape and align properly to the images.
I started with a simple Plane which I aligned on the top end of the hood. In order to work just on one side I deleted half of the plane and mirrored it over.
Next I used the Extrude tool (E Key) and started to move the edges and vertices into place.
In cases where points need to be merged you can use the merge tool using ALT M Key.
Extruding Edges and Vertices (Points) is the main work here and need to be repeated constantly adding more and more geometry along the reference images.
Once the side frame was in place I started to extrude the shape for the front shield and roof.
Eventually getting to the rear part of the car.
3. Rendering
At the end I added the wheels and front bumper and experimented with he Material and Light settings in Blender in order to render the final images.
There is a lot to learn and I haven't figured the correct lighting and Material shadings out yet but I am happy with this result.
I hope this brief overview was interesting. If you have ant tips to improve this workflow or ideas for a next model than please let me know.

thought you were talking about those hand-made models for a sec, i used to do those all the time lol this is awesome though , great work, upvoted
Thank you, much appreciated.
