Underdressed and over flight
The local airport is a small affair so there is not a great need to arrive 2 hours early like I would have to if flying from Helsinki. I am in about 45 minutes early as it is and probably could have slept another 20.
Sunday flights are rare for work from what I hear, but with Monday morning customer trainings, it is the only way to get there. It was a very short weekend.
These days I travel as light as I can but I do take my camera with me on the off chance I can get a few hours here or there to walk. Also, when I fly I dress for comfort in track pants and a hoodie.
Now I feel underdressed.
I like that shot though.
I remember the first flights I ever took in Australia required putting on neat clothing to pay respect to flying like magic through the air at 11 kilometres above earth. Even now, the longer in the tooth dress well for their flights abroad. This first leg lands in Riga, Latvia where I am guessing most of the passengers will stay, but I will go on for another hop.
While I am not keen on the 4 days away from family, I do enjoy the work trips and getting to see some unfamiliar sights, no matter how brief it might be.
Well, as you can see from the picture above, I am on the flight and will see you on the other side.

Hoodies are ok...balaklava's probably not. Good pic though...The lady doesnt look too happy about heading to Riga though. #grumpyface

Yeah, she didn't seem to excited about much at all - especially the 7.50€ for a crappy croissant and coffee at the airport.
Ah yes, the old exorbitantly priced airport food and drink. Always a nice thing to look forward to when travelling. You should have gone over there and busted out a:
"How're you doin" Joey Tribiani style.
Would have made her day. Maybe the delivery would be lost in translation to Finnish though...And she looks stern.
I think she is Latvian, too much style and comfortable confidence for a Finn :D
I think she was feigning indifference hoping you'd come over...Or she was a snob.
While it was nice for the shot, it is a terrible dress for being on a flight with.

But I thought you could show up to the airport in anything. No? Comedy is something I should stop watching now probably... Yes? Lol. I don't think I will ever be fine with randomly flying like you though. The fear of heights is real :D
Btw that lady is ready to fight someone... anyone for that matter! XD
I do show up in anything, but the "random check" randomly gets me more often than not. Weirdly since travelling for work though, I get stopped less. Perhaps it is the laptop bag?
At the end of my flight I have a 150km taxi trip...
Cultures can be different. In my country you'd be probably stopped more often. You can't randomly show up at an airport looking undressed and a laptop bag. Lol.
Safe travels. The taxi ride sounds like a 3 hour ride... Damn.

I remember having to dress up to go on the plane XD Think it's more to not look like a dero going through the airport than paying any respect to the act of flying XD
