Thoughts, Words and Photos (Eleven)

in #photography8 years ago

The winds have picked up this morning and soon the snow dust on the trees of yesterday will be a distant memory. These shots were taken at the lake near our home and one of my favourite places to sit in the summer and think a little. I like photographing it at different stages and conditions of the year to note how it changes and returns from state to state, much like my my thoughts as I think.

We are not our thoughts, I suppose that most understand this already. Our thoughts come and go from moment to moment and those that were common in the mind of a child may never be seen again. How we view our world is in a constant state of flux and what we believe and how we think about these things shifts heavily with experience. Bu, if we are not our thoughts, why do we tie others to theirs?

Are they incapable of a changing mind or like us under observation, can all minds change? I see that our thoughts are malleable and we can direct them if we choose even though they may not go into the corrals of our choosing. I think that the bigot, the extremist, the religious and the depressed can fundamentally change their thinking if they were to actively take part, instead of passively float.

Most choose not to try even though they note that their minds are shifting, their thoughts are changing. The choose not to try for a whole range of reasons but perhaps often it is fear that what if the attempt is made to be better but, the results do not show the effort. Perhaps it is best than to accept my mind and stay a victim of thought.

And we are victims of our thinking if we choose not to understand the changing conditions of our mind. If we choose not to realise that how we think of where we were, are and will be are not aligned and as a result, our expectations of our future cannot be met because of the conflict in our thoughts and, the resulting actions we take.

You have this ability to relate nature with human character development. It is the same thing you did with the mimicry cry of the lyre bird post. The ability to relate two or more things from unrelated domains - what do you call that? Associative thinking? I started following you about three days ago, haven't missed any of your post and I can say I have greatly benefitted from your stories right from the post about people judging others when they are not the one with the shoes on. Steemit is a great place to learn and people like you makes the learning process cool. Thanks @tarazkp

I really like the shot of the boats upside down, covered in snow on the lake shore. There's the contrast of knowing that the boat is meant for great pleasure, but the timing isn't now. It's a testament that sometimes we just need to be patient, because even though we want to (go boating) right now, it could be harmful for us to do so because the timing isn't right. Thanks for the thought-provoking images.

Yes, I once wrote about this in one of my recent poetries. It defines each word that u said above. Here are a few lines from the same :-

We often misjudge ourselves,
through the actions we take,
we consider ourselves intelligent or idiot,
by the decisions we make!!
We read it everywhere that we are what we do,
but of our reality we hardly have a clue.

I don’t see a monster in the person who kills,
I don’t see a priest in everyone who kneels,
I can see innocence in a thief who steals,
I can see love in a slut who reveals !

then how can I say that your actions create you,
I say no one can judge the real shade of you.

Amazing article as always, pretty much describes my opinions :)

There is nothing permanent except change.

Thanks for the wonderful photos and sharing your mind with us, all the best.

I feel cold just looking at your photos :). Your write up with it really set the mood for it too.

Very beautiful photos. Looks like huge snowflakes. I call myself freezing when it is +6 here :)
Thats absolutely true. Sometimes we have to listen to others and be positive about their ideas. I am a very stubborn person and sometimes cant accept what others say, but trying to compromise a bit.

Very deep thinking , the mind is definitely very powerful and I agree that we are in control of it.

I especially like "And we are victims of our thinking" because that is so true.

Great write up , following you now!

Taraz, teach us how you take your photos. You're really good. -- not to veer too off topic, but I think that you'd be hard pressed to change some minds, sometimes, because I feel certain things do become ingrained in people...

Amazing Photography, Its simply Awesome :)

These photos are wonderful, I love winter because nature is amazing. Have a nice day!
