Thinking about communication and outward facing content for onboarding
There are two types of people in the world:
Those that remember a memory card for their camera, and those who do not.
Today for the first time, I fall into the second category.
Tomorrow we are going to a forest zoo with @smallsteps and I want a proper camera so will have to find a card from somewhere. At the moment we are in the middle of nowhere with no shops around but hopefully I can find a store closer to the zoo to pick up a card.
This is where we are, my in-laws' cottage and it is hotter than the devil's balls here.
But hot balls is not what I was going to talk about. Actually, there are another four types of people that should be considered by anyone developing some content for anyone anywhere at all. This is important because understanding the audience helps connect with them and this is a way to give at least something for everyone.
The four types are, Why, what, how and what if people
Why - are those who need the reason before they do something and we all fall into this often enough. Communicating the why is very important to draw the audience in to find out more.
What - these are the detail orientated people, the ones that like to know the definitions of things, the labels and names.
How - covers the processes involved and the people here like the workflows and cause and effect type of situations, the turning cogs.
What if - are the future thinkers, the application of where it could go and how it could be applied, even if not set in stone.
Now, what someone needs is dependent on the topic itself and of course what background one might have but, if you are presenting to an unknown audience, it is a wise decision to hit all points. This communication style works in many ways and if you use this in business, you will find you will get faster and better results and if presenting, an audience that engages more deeply with what you deliver.
I have been meaning to write something about this for awhile and again after a comment I made the other day, but I thought I would quickly look over it now because I believe that when people think about the way they absorb information themselves, they might better consider the way they present information.
Now, for a good example that covers these points, here is the latest post from @theycallmedan that is about Steem but is outward facing. This means that to be as inclusive as possible for an audience that might not know much about blockchain, steem, crypto or what all of it could mean, hitting the why, what, how and what if points will be the best approach.
What @theycallmedan does is weave these points throughout the piece by defining aspects, telling how they work, why they are important and how they could be applied. For a newbie, this is a good introduction of terms that can be pegged to concepts and create the imagery needed for a future position. For those on other platforms, I recommend sharing this article on to spread Steem further.
When it comes to outward facing content, we need to remember that a lot of the terms that we might use are jargon for most people and specialized in a way that they will not intuitively understand them. this makes building the conceptual framework knowledge of Steem difficult for many people - even for those who have been here a while.
We definitely need more outward facing content and I am going to start producing more. I am not active on other platforms however so I hope that you will help spread it onward. I will get to more on this later because, my battery in the laptop is dying - which is probably because it is sitting on the devil's balls.

[ a Steem original ]
This is what I had originally envisioned for my own content when I joined but it is funny to see how it tends to gravitate back to inward content. I think opportunities will arise to make the change adequately between front ends that make it more attractive to do so (Steempeak has been quite impressive).
People write about what is important to them and for many, Steem is important. I know that for me, I spent 6 months non-Steem related but, once I actually started learning - I shifted focus.
I vividly remember not replacing a memory card in my camera and I was going to record my organ recital. I was devastated that I left it in the memory card reader at home 😢

I have had one fail on me before. Sucks.
I had to laugh right at the beginning of this post cause my wife is always forgetting the memory card for the camera.
And interesting read for someone who is just getting back into writing again. I use to stick to fiction mostly but find now that I prefer non-fiction. And I do intend to write more and post a good deal of what I hope is quality content.
Have you read much from Seth Godin? I really like his writing style and what he has to say in general. I mentioned a qoute from him on my first post under my name.

When looking to engage an audience, it is good to target what is engaging and, we are actually pretty good judges of that of we observe ourselves.
I have never read Seth Godin, I don't get to read much at all these days.
Yeah! I noticed this trend lately my dear friend. Though, I know you'd have to be some sort of a sleepless extraterrestrial if among the many activities and occupations that you've been throwing on your shoulders in recent months, you still would have some time to read something at all. ;p
But well, going back to that bit about 'outward facing content' I know that you know, that I've been doing just this since long time ago. "Universal Content For Everyone" wherever they are. As usual, mainly about consciousness and create awareness about everything in life and beyond. Philosophical subjects, life issues and scientific matters which I enjoy big time writing them, develop them and share them, despite the dismal feedback and gratifying rewards that I receive from them. };)
But if right now, I'm even able to force you to click here, read the last and most recent post I've written and induce you to drop a thoughtful comment in there. I will consider myself as well paid in the world of miracles and the dimension of impossible things. :)
Some of us could fit into more than one of those categories. It would not be hard. Enjoy your time. @tarazkp
Yes, some could write in many but, I wouold also suggest that people separate their content and focus on one or two at a time - rather than spamming tags.
We certainly do need more outward facing content, or at least outward facing content that is facing outward. You don't get many people botting the shit out of an interesting science article, or a quite wonderful photography / creative post.
So perhaps the tribes like steemgeeks and creativecoin can push this work out, to bring people in?
Tagtastic work by the way :D
#creativecoin #steemleo #neoxian #palnet #gimmetokens
I think that the interfaces could get decent content that is tailored for an audience out to those who enjoy it.
Yep, have you seen the shit on some of those tags? Perhaps if they read a bit more about how to develop content it would improve ;)

On right you can see Vote weight multiplier:
Just click on it (uses KeyChain) :)
Thanks, will check it out when homoe tomorrow night. On my work PC so no Keychain here.
I'm hopeful too.
Yes some tags are a lot worse than others - I've sided with a couple quite heavily this week, and the rest can just tick along and we'll see. Hopefully the spammers won't grind the tribesmen down.
Haha yeah @abh12345. Tell that to me louder buddy. Just to convince myself that that's the naked truth. #gimmetokens };)
