Given over

Stripped away with flecks of paint upon the floor
and by the door you stood as a shadow of worse held
still moving with grace and poise.
The noise of other voice ringing through the night air
and without a care you turned and smiled unaware
with mischief in hollowed eyes.
While the wall stood tall as the stones pulled down
toward the ground on which you would walk
and stalk towards upon the breeze.
Trapped between the darkness of a moonless night
the light faded from the day gone long burned away
to never come full circle and rise.
A world dropped away from attention's hard gaze
and the glazed over pupils of an addicts cold stare
softened nature's remembered lines.
Crying heard as world folded and closed the door
burning skin pressed firmly against the lost home
and reminders of bygone times.
