Gifts all round
Here are some of the pictures from tonight. They are unedited but cropped to 16:9 because I like the look of the wider slice in Steem. My daughter held up really well during the day and we managed to keep her awake for the 45 minute drive home 2 hours after her normal bedtime. What's the bet she won't sleep in.
This first shot I really love because of the reason she was so happy in it. As Santa was handing out gifts she kept an eye on everyone and when the last person finally got one she shouted, "Now everyone has something!"
She tracked 16 people as gifts crisscrossed the room but didn't realize her Pappa was Santa, even though she noted him absent...
The next few are from her opening her presents which were almost all she really gets excited over, clothes, drawing stuff and of course, books.
The cottage is my sister-in-laws' husband's family's originally, and is a very old and rundown farm work shed that has been converted into a mostly summer place by the lake. We didn't get there until the sun was down so I have no pictures from the outside unfortunately but I will put some more up tomorrow from the day once I have had a chance to run through them a little and do a bit of cleanup. It is a beautiful place in the summer and cozy in the winter.
I am pretty happy so far with our parenting skills as she is such an awesome little girl and continually surprises people who meet her with her mannerisms. Of course, we can't take the credit for her personality but since she is asleep, I will ;)
Tomorrow is another meal with my parent in-laws so it is off to bed now to sleep off some of this ham that I have had three servings of today.

I know that a lot of people don't put personal stuff on the blockchain and many others don't see value in it but for me, I see it in a bit of a different way. Over the last two years I have put so much time and effort into Steem and my goal is to have it be a significant part of our future, just like my business would be or, our home. Having periods where I share personal parts of my life like this help me entrench myself further in and after all, my family is a big part of the reason I work so hard for the future.
Post the personal stuff all you want. It's a good reminder why we do all of this. Honestly I'm not sure where some people got it in their heads that personal stuff doesn't belong on a blogging platform...that is a huge part of blogging and social media as a whole.

She's quite adorable. The look on her face in the last one is pure joy.
We had our Christmas dinner at home after which I dozed off on the sofa in the living room. When I came to, my wife and daughter had had cake already. But was feeling like a boa after swallowing a whole goat so I think it was best for me to skip the cake.
There is always room for cake in my experience ;) Sounds like a good Christmas anyway

It is a pretty cool place in my opinion :)
I think as is matures, there will be more interaction between steem and the real world lives we have. I am just starting a bit early.
